I just wonder how it makes you feel that the company that brought you a midget jerking off in a garbage can and Super Dave Osborn as guest host, has outlasted Nitro and ECW. Like if by some divine joke they last another 10 years the casual fans of that time will know about impact wrestling than angles like the nWo and raven vs dreamer. Me it makes me feel sad, sadder than Grizzly Smith strolling in a white van down by a playground only to find the police there.

To be fair they had more money poured in to them than ECW by a long shot.
And the only reason WCW went off the air was because of executive meddling

Honestly it's kind of amazing that older TNA looked more professional than last couple of years TNA. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

It depends on what you count with WCW. If you say it started in 1989 with the Turner buyout, that's still 12 years meaning they'd be tied. Now if you included JCP there....

The soap opera Guiding Light lasted 72 years.
It started with radio episodes in 1937 all the way to HDV episodes in 2009.
All told there were 18,262 episodes of Guiding Light before it was cancelled 5 years ago.
From 15 minute radio shows in the 1930s...
to 30 minute daily tv in the 1950s...
to hour long episodes from the 1970s onwards...
18,262 episodes!
18,262!
That's more than Raw/Nitro/Thunder/Smackdown/ECW/Impact/The Simpsons/Law & Order combined, then quadrupled!
It still sucked.
Sucked hard.
TNA sucks.

TNA is like a person that's been at the same job for a long time and hit their ceiling, so it's a combination of comfort and lack of motivation that leads to decreased giving a f***.

Yea personally I consider the whole Mid-Atlantic territory with Flair going to the demise of WCW to be WCW. Cause it's like WWE didn't just start when Vince took over, several of the same wrestlers and a similar content, the same MSG crowd was there when his father controled things as the WWWF. I'm not sad that TNA lasted that long over other companies that are not there. I'm just sad over the overall state of wrestling and that we lost WCW and ECW. If I ran Titan Sports, the first thing I would do would be to bring back WCW and ECW and I don't care if it fueled by nostalgia. Same owner but three distinct promotions with their own TV shows, their own flavors and own bookers and travelling companies.

It outlasted all the cheap carnival shows that old timers grew up on because it's simply the best. Better than all the rest.

It's all because of Dixie Carter! If it wasn't for her, Jeff Jarrett would still be selling meat from a truck in Minneapolis!!

Ring Of Honor is 3 months older than TNA. It's bizarre to consider that, by most measures, ROH is not just longer-lasting than ECW, but has been more successful (in that the company actually seems stable/profitable). Nothing will beat the influence ECW had on pro wrestling, but ROH has carved out a very impressive niche in wrestling history. TNA, on the other hand, has been...well, it certainly has been, hasn't it?
