"Angle said he feels his next wrestling contract will be his last, so he really needs to think about what that means to him and who he will sign with."
Kurt Angle has been wrestling for TNA longer than he did for WWE.
WWE can be pretty mercenary as a business. I hate TNA's product - instead of a fresh alternative to WWE, it comes across as a poor imitation of a product which is not consistently excellent itself anymore. That being said, I recognise TNA is another source of employment for wrestlers and I'm glad of that.
From 2012 WWE has been receptive to part-time contracts - something formerly exclusive to names such as Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker. Not just huge names like Brock Lesnar and The Rock - WWE has realized the worth of having stars like Chris Jericho and Rob Van Dam fit WWE around their schedules instead of vice versa.
Angle claims he left WWE because he was working hurt and they would not allow him the time off to heal. I think it's become quite clear over the years that Angle left WWE because of his addiction, Angle is an admitted addict and the rumour that circulated at the time was WWE wanted Angle to go clean himself up in rehab and he refused. It's just a rumour - and there is evidence that TNA was willing to left indiscretions like addiction slide, until Jeff Hardy publicly humiliated them.
Kurt Angle claims to have one just hit one year clean. If it's true, and I hope it is, then good for him. He has the potential to make what I think is an inevitable return to WWE for a short run, win the championship one more time, main event Wrestlemania or at least steal the show and then retire gracefully.
But as a fan I feel cheated of the best years of Angel's career. If TNA was a good enough stage for the last 9 years of his career then it should be good enough to retire on. If WWE ever did treat him as poorly as to refuse him time off to heal, then why would he ever return and make them another dime?
To me it feels as if we were Angle's kid, but Kurt had problems with Mom. Instead of working through the issues he gets a divorce and ran off with some young model. Now he's had his fun he wants to be back with the stable mom who's going to iron his shirt and cook his meals. Oh hey son, how you been for the past 9 years?
Well screw you, dad.

If WWE let Kurt Angle wrestle in 2014 the entire Wellness Police is completely undermined (and that's not a drug reference, people don't realise it but Drug tests are only a very small part of what the Wellness policy is)
They are basically saying "we have this rigorous policy in place to ensure the talents safety and wellbeing and it does apply to the younger expendable guys, but it will go out the window for anyone we can actually make some money off"

In businesses where you work hurt for the majority of your life I see no problems with athletes/builders/construction groups etc going to other teams or companies if it offers them better pay/healthcare/support.
If Kurt IS clean for the year then surely going to work with WWE who pays for pretty much every surgery/health problem their athletes have is better than sticking around TNA when many people (including masses of recently released wrestlers) say they are apparently in even worse straits and not caring for their wrestlers.
Kurt Angle gave his body up in TNA for longer than he did in the WWE. He doesn't owe anyone a thing, not the company, not the fans, if he can be better off somewhere else then he should go with that.
People have too much sympathy for companies these days and damn, it should NOT be that way, we need to side with the humans over the money or we lose our humanity.

Tell me more about your feelings towards your father "Kurt Angle" But no, this situation is nothing like a father leaving a family. Kurt doesn't owe the fans a thing and he's free to do whatever the hell he wants to do with his career.

Look guys, let's look at it from Kurt's side, he gave everything to TNA, he was the only guy to promote them when he was being interviewed by major outlets (for example, the Howard Stern Show, he talked about the storylines and everything, while Hogan only went in to promote himself, he was never embarrased for being associated with them) he battered his body for the company, took risks he didn't need to take, lost his f***ing family, I don't think he needs to sink with that boat, I wish he could get one last run, hell Edge worked for years with them with a worse neck issue.

Angle coming back to WWE would be a great thing.
Best years of his career? No, we got those in WWE. We're talking about one of the most significant WWE talents of the early 00's and one of the biggest names in their history.
I would also prefer that Angle come back in a non-wrestling role. Guy's banged up enough - conceivably a match or two, but I'd much prefer the guy as a manager or a Bret Hart type role right now.

Honestly, he should just retire and do Legends type stuff for WWE.
I don't normally concern myself with such things because these wrestlers are grown men that can make their own decisions, but I sincerely fear for his safety and well being at this point. I also am just sort of sick of wrestlers from that era anyway, stars from the 90's shouldn't still be wrestling in 2014.

NO. Angle to me has always been WWE. He's my favorite wrestler ever, but his entry into TNA is what made me stop watching TNA. While they had some pretty decent matches, I was so pissed at him killing Joe's momentum.

No..
I don't have any sort of weird loyalty to a company I don't work for. They may use the term WWE Universe or whatever, but that's a meaningless buzzword.
No, not at all.

I've said it a bunch of times, and I'll repeat it now: I am a huge Angle fan, but I don't wanna see him back in a WWE ring. The man's given more to this business than he has had any right to, and he's gonna be paying the price for it for the rest of his life.
However, I do wanna see him back under the WWE banner, but as a trainer or a road agent. Hell, even a Legends contract would be fine. Just, anything to prevent the guy from getting back into a TNA ring, working the style that he does without TNA seeming to give much of a damn for his well-being, and potentially crippling himself for life.

He actually put him over on their rubber match back in 06, I think that was more "creative's" deal, at the time they signed Kurt, Russo came within a day or two.

Yeah, I remember like the whole ordeal was a corrupt a wish for TNA. Yes, you get Kurt Angle, but you also get Vince Russo.

Even if for a sporadic schedule for a couple years. There's so many potentially awesome feuds he can be a part of. You stopped watching TNA because your favorite wrestler went there... I...I...umm.... ?

Call me naive but I genuinely believe that WWE wouldn't let him wrestle if he wasn't cleared to. They are so careful with concussions and such now, that they won't take a chance with anyone who isn't 100% capable of competing.

I'd like him back if he could actually clear a physical. I don't think he can though.

I haven't seen Angle wrestle since about 2012 but he certainly still had it, and seems to refuse to phone it in. Having him lose to Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania would be an ideal way to go out.

He left WWE for TNA because he was too physically broken down to handle the insane travel schedule and constant bumps.
...Of course, then TNA started hitting the road and he refused to slow down over there, doing stupid shit that WWE wouldn't even allow him to do. I didn't say he was smart.

Actually I seem to recall that Angle didn't "leave" WWE, they canned his butt. I believe the story was that Vince wanted Angle to take time off to heal and go to rehab, Angle got pissed at being told what to do, they had a big blow up and Angle said Vince would have to fire him before he would go to rehab, so Vince told him he had to honor his request.
