I'm a huge fan (and have been, for a long, long time) of Jason Gory. He's one of the few "small flippy guys" that can work with a full-on heavyweight without it looking awkward. He isn't the best talker out there, but he plays his gimmick (Freddy Kreuger, basically) well enough that it doesn't matter. The only real issue I see is his size. While he has gotten bigger over the years, he still looks like a 98 pound weakling.
Two more worth mentioning:
RJ City: He's good in the ring, and is instantly hateable. One of the few indy heels that I actively want to see get his ass kicked.
John McChesney: The guy has been around forever, but still looks good. He's an old-fashioned "well rounded" performer. His heel turn in IWC in 2007, wherein he (legit) attacked the sound guy for playing "Everybody Hurts", is still a top ten moment for me.

I just wanted to mention a few more names. Ilja Dragunov: A while back there was a thread asking about real Russian wrestlers. While this guy wasn't around for the old school Communist heel days, Dragunov is a genuine Russian. Since there is only one Russian indie of any notable size that I know of Dragunov has had to go outside of his country's borders to really get noticed and pretty much just sticks to Germany. He's got some attention though and has worked a number of the shows tri-promoted by WXW, CZW and BJW. I'm hoping he gets to go to the United States or Japan sometime soon so he can work some matches for CZW and/or BJW on their home turf. I think fans would love him in Japan because he has a hell of a lariat. Here's a write-up of one of his matches: bit.ly/1ysW5MwSammi Lane: I acutally just did a write-up of one of her matches today, but she has been around the northeast indie scene for years. She kind of has stayed exclusive to fairly smaller companies (her main promotion is New England Championship Wrestling). I'm hoping though that with Beyond Wrestling now doing live shows in New England and getting the attention of CZW, she'll do some shows for bigger feds like CZW. Here's the write-up I did on her: bit.ly/1mNh7l8The Great Depression: I think this guy might just be limited to one promotion (Inspire Pro Wrestling), but I LOVE the gimmick. Basically he's a classic old school hoss that squashes jobbers and has a unique monster look. Also, the old timey music he uses for his entrance is a nice touch. Here's a write-up: bit.ly/1spFRDkEdit: Also, wanted to say people have brought up some great names so far. One of my favorites mentioned yet has been John McChesney. He was wrestling alongside CM Punk, Chris Hero, etc. as they were setting the indies on fire. In some alternate universe he's probably main eventing WWE PPVs.

Trevor Lee, that guy has it. Loved the guy since he debuted in PWG (a shame I didn't know about him before). Selling, move set, look, presence etc the guy has got it. I think he has a bright future in PWG, and will hopefully one day be PWG Champion. Fingers crossed he has a great showing at ELEVEN against Steen (which could be incredible) and at BOLA (where fingers crossed he will get past the first round, even though I like Alexander)

Brent Banks. He's got Rock-esque charisma by the tons! And he's really good in the ring. Given another year or two, I can see WWE knocking on his door.

"The Ego" Robert Anthony. dude is a staple of Resistance Pro out of Chicago, and just is amazing, he had one hell of a match against John Morrison a year or two ago that brought the house down! also appreciate him...or he will kick you.....in the penis....*i dont know how he got that phrase over but dammit...he did!*

Here are a few more names worth mentioning. Maybe not everyone should know about these three just yet, but there is a bunch of potential in each of them. Sebastian Radclaw: He plays a lovable goofball character. His humor is probably too silly for a lot of adults, but I could see kids really digging him in a Santino kind of way. Although he throws in some ribald humor sometimes as well. Aside from wrestling he also has his own YouTube show, which there aren't many episodes of, but that is still being updated. Here's a write-up: bit.ly/1ljMhMIFrankie James/Frankie Pickard: He has went by at least two different names and has opened every single CZW Dojo Wars to date. He has mainly showcased a pretty basic style thus far showing that as CZW looks to the future, DJ Hyde will be showcasing more than just hardcore wrestling (which he is now though some fans still have the perception CZW is just hardcore wrestling still). Also, Pickard can hit a great belly-to-belly suplex. Here's a write-up of a match he wrestled: bit.ly/1zVeFyvConnor Claxton: The CZW Dojo Wars aren't just opened by Pickard, but instead with him facing off against Claxton. The two already have pretty good chemistry that will just develop over time. Since Pickard/Claxton has been booked on all five editions of CZW Dojo Wars I think DJ Hyde has big plans for these two down the road. Here's a write-up of another Pickard/Claxton match: bit.ly/1kJTgP0

TMDK (the mighty don't kneel) Shane Haste and Mikey Nichols (I consider pro wrestling Noah kinda Indysh, they've also worked on championship wrestling from Hollywood). Awesome tag team, their styles mesh good together, haste is the highflyer and Nichols is the technician. Have good promos, their aow with cabana was awesome. Awarded tag team of the year in japan, first gaijins to do this since electricity.

Heck, he even had a WWE tryout a while back.

Robert Anthony is cool. As for anything he's done recently he has almost exclusively wrestled for Resistance Pro. As you pointed out he was their champ, but he lost the title late last year. Since then he has also held the company's tag titles with the same guy who beat him for the heavyweight title, Jocephus Brody. Outside of Resistance Pro the only thing I know he's done lately is a couple months back when he had a one off match for Juggalo Championship Wrestling as Ego Fantastico.

This thread is too awesome to let it slip through the cracks. Even though he's American, he made Japan his home base and it wasn't until much later that he debuted in CZW, I'm talking about Masada, in my opinion the best czw world champ of all time, most people scoff at "garbage" wrestling, but I think it's because the lack of talent in most deathmatch guys, Masada can wrestle with the best of them, he was trained by Rudy Boy Gonzalez in the Texas Wrestling Academy (where Spanky, London, Michael Shane and Dragon were trained), he actually uses psychology in his matches, builts to the weapon spots, he had classic matches with Davey and Generico. He should be on tv, the only thing holding him back is his attitude.

Figure i'll mention some Australian talent I think are worth checking out; • AJ Istria. Mostly works in Queensland with the occasional tour of Japan. Arguably the top guy in Australia currently. • Adam Brooks. Wrestles in Victoria and South Australia. Has improved greatly over the last 2 years and is becoming a big deal, fairly quick. • Joel Bateman. Wrestles pretty much everywhere. Did a tour of the U.S. a couple of years ago working with Beyond Wrestling and CZW. Arguably the top cruiserweight in the country having amazing matches with Lynx Lewis jr and Mystery/Turbo Wolverine. Kamalarambo mentioned above Elliot Sexton. If anyone is interested, Sexton has funded, created and released a documentary about his career so far for $9.99 (AUD) at brendanvink.com/ . And closing, I could post matches from the names mentioned above. But wouldn't it be more fun if you looked for them yourself? No? Well, whatever, i'm too lazy to do it. So instead, here is a really fun match from last month's Wrestleclash show in Melbourne. Mikey Broderick vs Damien Slater;

Damian O'Connor. I witnessed him destroy his opponent (MMMMMMMJOE HENDRY) with a coast to coast dropkick this evening, complete with bright green chair.

Rocky Romero Has been a staple on new japan for years, even burned their bridge with them but they still keep bringing him back, has worked on aaa, pwg, former roh tag champion too, has even fought once in mma (during the last years of inoki in njpw he made everyone have a shoot fight, most of the boys lost). I think he also helped to train John Cena on upw.
