The Celtics signed Evan Turner. Yeah, I don't know why, either. He didn't do anything for the Pacers. But, then again, since he is leaving the Pacers, he might be impactful for Boston. Many players do for some reason. I just don't see the need for the acquisition. The Celtics have areas of need that have yet to be addressed in free agency or the Draft, yet they decided to use their draft capital and financial resources on guards. Turner joins an already crowded backcourt of Rajon Rondo, Avery Bradley, Marcus Smart, James Young, Marcus Thornton, Phil Pressey, and Chris Babb. That's eight guys who can play point or shooting guard. I mean, if the Celtics' intention is to tank again, then yeah, sign nothing but point guards and run a 12-man team of guards. Shoot for the stars. But if they wanted to field a competitive team in 2014-15, they have yet to make one move this summer that has made any sense for the short-term or long-term future.

The Thunder organization has elected to not wear the patch commemorating Seattle's 1979 title run.

The Thunder organization has elected to not wear the patch commemorating Seattle's 1979 title run. That's good. Hopefully when Seattle finally gets a franchise of its own again, they can have the history that is now hanging in the rafters in Oklahoma City, namely the previously-won championships and retired numbers. Then OKC can have their own free-standing history that started in 2008. Sort of like what recently happened with the New Orleans Pelicans and Charlotte Hornets, where New Orleans agreed to transfer the records and statistics of the Charlotte Hornets from 1988 to 2002 to the Hornets, and that New Orleans' basketball history officially started in 2002-03.

After one quarter it's Houston 17 Sacramento 16 in the Summer League Championship Game.
I'm liking what I'm seeing from Stauskas and Mclemore. Hopefully we sign Eric Moreland to a contract, he's the type of defensive presence we need.

The Jazz have agreed to trade John Lucas, Malcolm Thomas and Erik Murphy to the Cavaliers in exchange for Carrick Felix, a future second-round pick and $1 million.
Clippers interim CEO Richard Parsons testified in court on Tuesday that coach Doc Rivers said he'll quit if Donald Sterling is not removed as the team's owner.

It is the season where they start playing random old games on NBA TV. I love it.
Last night the 06 All Star Game was being shown and I was having a blast watching it.

The Bulls are making a huge push for Kevin Love. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I think I'd almost rather keep Taj Gibson and Jimmy Butler.

Clippers interim CEO Richard Parsons testified in court on Tuesday that coach Doc Rivers said he'll quit if Donald Sterling is not removed as the team's owner. Bullcrap. Doc Rivers is such a phony. He knew what kind of person Donald Sterling was well before these tapes were released in May. He had to. All it took was a Google search. But now he's suddenly digging his heels in and taking this stance? It's all posturing. He's puffing out his chest, showing his peacock feathers, but I can guarantee that once October rolls around, Rivers will still be coaching the Clippers. He'll just use some excuse. "Oh, the trial is still being heard," or "Oh, it's in the appeals process."

I'm happy if Love goes anywhere in the East.
The Kings have also submitted a waiver claim in the recently released Omri Cassipi. This move makes sense as we need some more shooting off the bench and Omri was a fan favorite here during his first run.
