I know WWE likes the monthly pay per view revenue, but honestly, I think they'd be better off pairing their pay per views down to 4 a year with the Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerslam and Survivor Series as their events. As for the other months, build up to one big Saturday Night's Main Event/Clash of the Champions type show. Make pay per views an actual attraction that doesn't happen regularly and people won't look at the pay per views like they're an episode of Raw with a different set.

I don't think cable companies would agree to that. But yeah, they should just make the PPVs not suck or just stop trying to hide the fact that only SummerSlam and Wrestlemania matter. Why would the cable companies opinions matter? They're not forcing WWE to produce a certain amount of PPVs. But yeah, WE F***ING GET IT, WWE'S PPVS SUCK AT TIMES AND IF THEY WERE BETTER PEOPLE WOULD BUY MORE... I'm talking about what to do in general to make PPVS and the Network both matter besides that. |

Not having 13 f***ing PPV's a year might help. Cut it down to 6 (Rumble, Chamber, Mania,MITB,Summerslam, Survivor series) Makes the events much more important and allows for actual build

Part of me wants to say that its not the # of PPVs but the quality. But on the other hand if they had only 4 REAL shows to build towards instead of 13 they could put more work into writing for those shows so the quality might increase as well.

I'm thinking a lot of people are just reading the thread title and not the post, but at the same time coming up with a very similar "simple idea". Can we get some sort of consensus here maybe? Obviously they PPVs need to be BETTER, but does pretty much everyone agree that we could do with less of them? Maybe make some traditional ppvs into network exclusive specials?

I'd go back to four big PPV's a year, but incorporate MITB into Wrestlemania, and Elimination Chamber into Survivor Series.

I'd change it somewhat Jan - Royal Rumble Feb - SNME Mar - Wrestlemania Apr - Extreme Rules May - Jun - MITB* Jul - SNME Aug - Summerslam Sep - Oct - Halloween havoc (Never gonna happen but a man can wish) Nov - Survivor Series Dec - SNME *Make it a tournament rather than a Ladder match, 2 reasons 1) Tournaments are awesome and I feel winning a tournament would make the MITB case feel more "earned" 2) I don't like ladder matches as I feel it can cause unnecessary damage to talent, I feel they should be "Once in a blue moon" deals - Bring back specific themes for the big 5, It would make the PPV's more special IMO.
