HHH and Mark were bitching in the Raw thread tonight, I saw them with my own two eyes.

The best part of the promo was when I remembered that I had the Network set to auto-renewal and then shut that off so I can decide at a later time.
Good times, lazy promos.

The PPV sucked and this was their little way of acknowledging they know it sucked.
Funny how people try to defend Battlegrounds criticisms with the VERY TIRED "ugh, if you don't like it don't watch it" which is just a silly, gauche thing to say to someone.
Let's have some respect for discourse here people and not try to convince someone to either stop watching or stop posting about it here.
If its that bothersome then use the block function.

How awful of Hunter to diss his friend, the Undertaker, the way he did. Having his streak broken by Brock Lesnar was insult enough.

Perhaps challenging their own fans to not watch anymore isn't the best of ideas.

If you don't like the product watch something else. It's not like wwe is holding a gun to anyone's head or something dumb like that. I'd just like to point out, a media company holding a gun to a fan's head would be a serious crime, dumb isn't the adjective I'd pick. Highly dangerous and illegal of WWE if they did this. In fact Vince holding a gun to my head is in the top ten most terrifying nightmares I can think of. 'DEAR GOD VINCE WHY DO I HAVE AN ERECTION'

See, this is why meta-heel Triple H is so damn good. He is actually *still* getting the fans who know it's all a work pissed off. That's some damn fine promo work.

Almost nothing about this PPV was surprising... There were good matches, and progressing story lines.. If you were expecting more you probably need to re-evaluate why you would watch a WWE ppv like Battleground in the first place.

WWE's entire financial future hinges on the people subscribing to the Network. Their impetus should be on putting on the best show they can, no matter what, each month. They literally cannot afford to coast right now. Especially so close to the renewal period. Keep in mind, the 675,000 they last announced are not automatically guaranteed to re-subscribe. If half that number said "f*** it", WWE's royally screwed. They're already not going to make a company profit this year for the first time in years due to start up costs and the PPV provider purge. And if they lose subscribers, the stock will also fall, and fall hard. It'll be a disaster.

Heels being heels? the world It's a little different to normal heel tactics though. Ever so often, it strikes me that WWE vent their real life anger on air. HHH whining about online fans when their commentators beat the audience over the head with Twitter and app plugs is just absurd.

Because if you hate ppv's like Battleground and you watch anyway there is a problem. Your time and money could be used doing something you find more meaningful Battleground is never going to be a wrestle-mania caliber show. Battleground wasn't even hyped as an important show. There wasn't any over abundance of bad swerves, bait and switch methods, or even bad matches. What was advertised was 9 matches. You got 8 of those matches. Really what else were you expecting?

To be fair, he was striking out at a particular type of online fan, imo; The youtube "bring back the attitude era" ranty types. The ones who complain every single time Cena wins. The ones who whine and whine that Bryan Danielson and Phil Brooks were buried. I think that was the type he was aiming for.

The smarks will know that it's WWE expressing anger at fans who do tend to have a point when making such criticisms, and the casual fan will be none of the wiser as to what he's talking about. Not sure what it accomplishes.
