The American Dream is a farce. Sadly, I grew up being fed lies about working hard by my father. I'm only now starting to see just how full of shit the old man really is.

I bet a lot of people who think this is a great idea think "going Galt" doesn't make them sound like a knob. These type of people don't seem to fathom the fact that all it would take is one crisis: devastating illness, natural disaster, what have you; and they'd be below the poverty line themselves.

He wasn't full of shit, it's just things are different these days. It kind of all went down hill, like, bye bye any glimpse of that dream in the 90s. 2000 on.....big ol sack of cowdung.

The people who talk about "going Galt" might want to look into the woman who wrote that shit. A woman who opposed social welfare of any kind who ended up ON welfare because of the damage a tobacco company did to her lungs. If people are going to base their lives on the works of crappy writers, I'd suggest Tommy Wiseau would be a better role model.
