Ok, it's been a while since I last posted some pictures of myself, so I just got these from Seattle. This is from June of 2007. So, for those that dug my fro, I still have it. So, it's storytime.
I got on a bus to Seattle at around 2:00pm. While on the bus, I passed by this mecca of sportsdom.
You might know it as Safeco Field. You see the Retractable Roof in the background. Anyways, while walking to the hotel where my ladyfriend would be staying, I passed by a sight that is common along Seattle.
Yes, those metal pigs. I would have ridden one, but that constitutes a $1,000 fine and 3 days in prison. So, discretion being the better part of valor, I didn't. I found the place, but I whiffed on her last name. So, I wandered Pike Place Market and wound up at Comedy Underground. That is the place where she'd be performing. That's where I ran into these guys.
Here are a couple of Irish Thrillseekers wearing kilts who just got hammered at the sports bar where I was sitting outside at. Fun for everyone to be had. Anyways, I don't know about that old guy who was standing next to these guys, but Real men wear kilts. A few moments passed and i see these tripped out loons.
I don't know where they came from, but it's obvious that they missed out on the Pride Parade that took place yesterday. But, I'm not one to judge, but they looked like they were on ecstacy. So, a few more minutes pass and these guys come by.
Their names escape me, but they are good eggs. Both fellow wrestling fans, who still enjoy watching it, even if it sucks now. They were there because they were performing at Comedy Underground that night. So, after talking with them for about 15 or so minutes, she shows up.
Her name is Jamie. She hails from Schaumburg, Illinois and is a fellow game show fan. I introduced her to Tony and Ladydark beforehand. Both really dug her. Anyways, this picture doesn't do her justice, so I got this one from her to prove her coolness.
Yup, her with Dresden Dolls drummer, Brian Viglione. I fully expect Tony to coem on and be totally jealous of it. Anyways, we talked for a few minutes then we went into Comedy Underground. Little known fact.....
She's a comedian. Yup, and was a funny comedian about that. Especially when she made a joke about Ichiro carring a Dave Valle Card with lipstick on it. Who knew. Anyways, she answered a bonus question right and got some candy. Reason #128 why I love her: She took the candy bag and dumped it all over her. The place was in hysterics.
The host went a little bit nuts, but enjoyed it. The power of Sigma compells her. Anyway, We saw a couple of other comics like this guy.
He sang a funny tune about breakup and being stoned half to death. But my favorite one, besides Jamie for obvious reasons, was this guy.
He Calls himself Tom Shane. I should tell a little backstory here. Tom Shane is the name of a famous Jeweler in Western Washington. He is known for his bland, dry and boring Radio Spots. The best part was that he pulled otu a Sock Puppet named Tom Shane Jr. And he did everything in the radio voice. Going 4 minutes in that voice would strain anybody. And he did it. Then came this guy.
His name is Ronaldo. He owns the club and the adjoining Sports Bar, Swannies. He had some funny Jabs and was good. A nice ending to the evening of comedy. So, we left the club and decide to go back to her place. But not before I took a picture of this.
The Beautiful Seattle Skyline. Impressive if I do say so myself. So, we went back to her place, and she gave me my first kiss. HOrray for firsts. So, after a night of passionate kissing (not really), We fell asleep. Tuesday arrived and she took this picture.
Yeah, this was around 8:00am. And I'm out like a light. So, I wake up, shower and we go out for Breakfast. Then I take a picture of her in the Morning.
Now we're even. We go out for some breakfast and have a great time. The pancakes and potatoes were delish. We hit the U-District and she wanted to see some clothing boutiques. We found this interesting thing.
To complete the PYL Shirt Ensemble, there's the WOF Fannypack. HOrray for vintage. And for something that will more than likely be photoshopped by others. This picture of me that makes me look like a butch lesbian.
Yeah, me in a Gay Biker hat, with sunglasses and somethign that looks like an Indigo T-Shirt. We listen to Malice Mizer and Zombina and the Skeletones at the apartment. WE then head out for soem Nachos. A gigantic batch of Nachos for $10. That's a deal. This allows me to snap a picture of her afterwards.
She wasn't feelign to well, so we decided to head back to the Apartment. We talked some more and watched various programming, including The REd Green Show and Family Feud with Richard Karn. Wednesday we head to my place to watch some game shows and play video games together. Nothing exciting, but I gave her a tape full of shows. We go back to Seattle on Thursday, and we hit Freemont. That place was dead, so we went to Capital Hill. Capital hill is the GLBT community. Not 5 minutes in, I see a 40-50 Year old Businessman making out with a 20 Year old man wearing a Superman outfit. I'm not kidding. Immediately I thought, "Why would Perry White be kissing Superman? Sholdn't that be Jimmy Olsen?" So, we head to Bimbo's Bitchin' Burrito Kitchen. The food was delish as usual, and that led to this picture.
The Burritos may have acted up on her for some odd reason. So, we walked around and found this interesting site. If you ever wanted to see open-mindedness in action. Just save this picture.
You see right, a GLBT church. God Bless Seattle and Capital Hill, if it were a studly guy, I'd sleep with it. Anyways, the rest of Thursday, I'd rather not get into. It's a bit messy. So, Friday I depart back to the drearyness that is Tacoma. But not before snapping one last picture of her.
Aimee Mann rules. Enough said. So, she continued her journey, and I went back to Tacoma to my Mom and Bro bitching at me because the house wasn't clean. The plan was to clean it when I returned before they got home. Oh well.
That was my vacation in Seattle. Hope you enjoyed it. And if there's one thing I'll remember about the trip, it's this picture.
