Take it back, doo-doot doo doo Take it back to 94! Just got the Blu-ray in the mail from Family Video (after giving up on the hope of finding it at a local store). This was one of the few movies my family owned on VHS when I was growing up (a gift to me when I was caught in the great Varicella Zoster Epidemic of 1995). The Blu-ray's sound is nice and full while the contrast boosted video leaves much to be desired. Having lots of fun revisiting it, as all I remembered from it was this: Thoughts, reflections?

I remember going to see it in theaters because my dad was a fan of it as a kid. (see this is why Hollywood remakes shit) But I don't remember if it was any good or bad. Didn't stick with me so I never felt the need to revisit it.
Young R-Truth is adorable in that scene.

Dear Dara,
I hate your stinking guts. You make me vomit. You're scum between my toes!
Love,
Alfalfa.

Underrated. I enjoyed it aside from some toilet humor.

I watched it dozens of times as a kid. One of my favorites besides Homeward Bound and The Karate Kid.

That's it, traitor, we must slay you...before your forbidden love...destroys our manly bond. Choose or die. Choose or die.

The highlight for me was the Mel Brooks cameo.

There were two movies that I looked forward to during the summer of 1994; The Little Rascals and Baby's Day Out.
After that, I realized that my tastes sucked and to never trust my childhood instincts ever again.

The one thing I vividly remember from this movie:
"Quick! What's the number for 911?"
"How should I know?"

Sadly that's not on Blu-ray... yet.

One of the local stations here showed old Little Rascals shorts every Sunday morning when I was a kid. Good times.

I should probably hunt down a copy. Been in the mood for movies I enjoyed as a kid lately. Liked this one, saw it plenty.....

Watched the movie when it came out and oddly enough what I remember the most was during the screening a fight broke out between a couple of kids in the audience.

I need to rewatch it. Just saw that last month or so a DTV sequel came out. Was lucky enough that my local UHF channel showed fairly uncut version of the "our gang/Lil rascals" shorts every weekday after school. Those were the days. Get home from school get a bowl of Freakies cereal. Then watch Scooby Doo,Superfriends,Three Stooges,Lil Rascals,Tom and Jerry then this show that was a hodge podge of AAP versions of old Popeye,Betty Boop and Loony Tunes shorts.
