I don't actually watch the videos, I just check out these threads once in a while because I want to understand what people find funny about this shouty c***.

T'would appear, good sir, that you're wasting your time in that regard! He killed off the Nostalgia Critic character for a while, it previously had a cutoff point of something like 15 years - like whenever it got back far enough for him to have been a kid when he saw it, but when he brought the character back (which I said at the time was creatively bankrupt anyway) he took the limit off it. I think he wants to be more 'topical' or some shit. Honestly I'm not really bothered if his character name is accurate or not, as long as he's funny, which he isn't always.

I'm perfectly fine with him dropping the cutoff date and the name basically only staying as it is for recognition purposes, but I do wish he'd stop with doing almost entirely newer stuff, or stuff that everyone else has covered. His past three reviews have all been movies that people've already torn apart, and of the three two of them came out last year. I miss when he'd do random shit no one remembered like Milk Money.

What I did enjoy about The Purge was the way the concept was explained nearly a DOZEN times during the first 15 minutes. It's like even though this has been a thing for over 10 years(New Founding Fathers FTW!) people living through it still need it spelled out for them. Even when Ethan Hawke is talking to his kids(one of whom is borderline retarded) he explains the whole thing start to finish. It's such a huge aspect of society that every TV/radio spot should have just been "The Purge starts at 7pm." and then you just let the audience figure out what's going on.
