First win of the season for Man Utd, will be vital in their battle against relegation this season.

All the hallmarks of Redknapp again accepting defeat against a big club before the match even starts, like he obviously did when they got mullered by Spurs. At the end of the season when QPR go down, I wonder if he'll think "Hmmm. Maybe we should have put up a fight in those matches?"

Plus Saints were awesome, lets not forget that. Oh no doubt, full credit to them. But we just made it that much easier for them. I think that is the worst I've ever seen Newcastle play in my lifetime. Agreed, AdamAFL was sooooo wrong? Not quite, nothing will ever be as bad as the "performance" delivered against Wolves in the FA Cup ('03 ish). And that was under Sir Bobby. Never seen such a lack of effort from 11-14 professional athletes.

Dude, thinking about that nearly makes me cry. We had one of the greatest attacking sides in PL history back in the 90s with those players you referenced, but those days are long gone. This is our reality now, and it's terrible. No matter what anyone thinks about Newcastle, our fans do not deserve this. What do you make of Newcastle's signings this summer? It seems maybe Pardew is trying to be like Wenger and find bargains from Ligue 1 in France obviously it's good when it works (Sagna, Koscielny, Giroud) but not when it doesn't (Chamakh, Gervinho). Signings have been pretty good (I give the credit to Graham Carr not Pardew for them though) but because we didn't buy anyone for so long (18 months with no first team permanent signings is just unacceptable) it still wasn't enough. We desperately needed another two CB's and a proven goalscorer. Could've done with a left back too but Haidara is playing well enough not to make that a necessity. I can blame Ashley for many, many things but the fact that Pardew can't get a side as (on paper) talented as ours motivated to play to the best of their abilities is on his head. We played QPR at the end of the 12/13 season in a game that confirmed to me Pardew should be sacked as manager, I haven't changed my opinion since - even when we started last season so well. He has to go. Ashley does too if we ever want to make strides as a club but at the moment Pardew is a bigger problem than Ashley.

Permanently burned into my memory too.

Enner Valencia's goal for West Ham tonight reminds me of that Alan Partridge video
"Shit! Did you see that?!"

'Eat. Sleep. Pardew Out. Repeat'
Popular with Newcastle fans after the Saints match, according to Football365.

Liverpool may have been below par tonight but Ludogorets are a lot better than their reputation made them out to be. They defended well (except for the penalty incident), were decent on attack and to be honest, were unlucky to lose.

Ludogorets were an unknown quality. They were always going to be dangerous.
Arsenal completely outclassed by Dortmund. Could have been much worse than 2-0

Arsenal were utter shit tonight and that's me sugar coating it. Also Danny Welbeck needs to learn how to finish and fast.

Norwich decide to play only the second half of a game for the second time in a row - but shit, they make it count!

And in very unsurprising news, Fulham have sacked Felix Magath. In slightly less surprising news, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has left Cardiff City.

Two guys who never should have been appointed in the first place. In a relegation battle, you need an experienced manager who can get the best out of very little.

Everton leads Wolfsburg 3-0 late. Everton's back line is still a bit suspect but Howard made some big saves. EDIT: Mirallas just put one in to make it 4-0 into stoppage time.

Arsenal just toying with Aston Villa now, up 3-0 a little past half. And Hull scores on Newcastle, up 1-0. Crap.

So Cisse scores for Newcastle and lifts his shirt to show a message of support to Gutierrez (who is receiving treatment for testicular cancer). Please tell me has wasn't booked.

Oh Liverpool, thank God our next game isn't against our local rivals. Oh wait, yes it is.

Liverpool were comical today. 2-0 in the first 10 minutes. It spoke volumes when with five minutes go at 2-1 down, they were on the halfway line passing it around. Completely out of ideas. I guess "attack" never occurred to them. Not sure who Sakho was trying to head the ball to when WHU scored their third.
