Cue all the United supporters blaming Clattenburg. Yes, it was a terrible decision. But you were still 3-2 up. What's your excuse for completely capitulating? Pathetic defending. "Woe is me, everyone is against us!" Sod off will ya.... Won't get any of that shit from me. Going forward we were great, but the inadequacies in defence are shocking. Evans has never been top class, Smalling I like as a player but seems to have regressed in the last couple of years, and Blackett is too inexperienced to be thrust into the first team this way. Leicester were good value for their win and LVG has some work to do to tighten things up at the back.

Oh Liverpool, thank God our next game isn't against our local rivals. Oh wait, yes it is. He wasn't, you only get booked for removing your shirt completely as it is said to waste time (seriously). Ok, that response has nothing to do with my post you quoted. Then I remembered I posted about hoping Cisse didn't get booked.

You mean the one that is already planned to take place during the Winter?

You mean the one that is already planned to take place during the Winter? German ExCo representative Theo Zwanziger has stuck his head above the parapet and told Sport Bild that he believes that Qatar’s fearsome 40°c summer temperatures will see the tournament nixed and shifted elsewhere on medical grounds. “I personally think that in the end the 2022 World Cup will not take place in Qatar,” said Zwanziger, the former head of the German FA. “Medics say that they cannot accept responsibility with a World Cup taking place under these conditions.” “They may be able to cool the stadiums but a World Cup does not take place only there. “Fans from around the world will be coming and travelling in this heat and the first life-threatening case will trigger an investigation by a state prosecutor. “That is not something that FIFA Exco members want to answer for.” BUT........ for what it’s worth and for the relatively high office he holds within FIFA, it would appear that Zwanziger isn’t exactly the foremost authority on such matters – at least according to prominent German journalist Raphael Honigstein… "Worth remembering that Theo Zwanziger doesn't enjoy the backing of the German FA, let alone FIFA Exco. lone voice in the wilderness." So in short: The 2022 World Cup is going to be a giant cluster-f*** from start to finish, as predicted by absolutely everyone.

I made comments about this, in addition to the crazy amount of logistics that would have to be involved just to keep everybody from dropping dead to heat stroke, years ago when they decided to give the 2022 event to Qatar. Hopefully, this game will eventually have gone to Australia. Or, in a pinch, the United States.

It'll go ahead, in winter. Too much money at stake for FIFA to move it.

You don't see that very often. Liverpool beat Middlesbrough 14-13 on penalties. More excitement in that shoot-out than the previous 120 minutes of football.

Really exciting penalty shoot out that with some great penalties. Only player not to score a pen in that shoot out on either team? Raheem Sterling. Banford and Adomah both missed and scored for Boro.
In other news Arsenal are out in the early rounds for the 2nd year running. At least we didn't lose to Bradford this time I guess. MK Dons for the cup.

What a shoot out that was.
I liked the commentator pointing out that the tension had changed, it had almost got to a "FFS just hurry up and finish it" stage.

Liverpool rarely lose penalty shoot-outs. They just seem to be able to keep their cool.

As a Middlesbrough fan I was overwhelmingly proud of what we did last night. During the penalties I could barely look, but once it got to something like 9-8 I was more amused than anything else.
Hopefully we can now push on and get promotion this season and return to playing at places like Anfield on a weekly basis!

I didn't even bother listening to Wenger's excuses, although I'm sure he had plenty for Arsenal's loss the other day.

Everton steals a totally undeserved point with a stoppage time goal from Jagielka in the Merseyside Derby.

Newcastle still without a win in the league losing 1 nil at Stoke. How much longer can Pardew last in the job?

Woke up at five in the morning just so I can catch a train to Helsinki, so I can see Finland-Greece match in the evening. Never have I been so excited for a qualifying match.

I was really hoping Landycakes was gonna score tonight.
For all the criticism heaped upon him over the years, the guy was a legend in American football. He'll be missed.
That was a golazo and a half by Enner Valencia, though. Hammers look to have done a nice piece of business with him.
