I always thought they were your version of Oasis, since you never gave a crap about them. But America seems to be waking up to the fact that Oasis are beyond awesome finally.

i dig oasis, brit pop a lot of time i find is overrated. bands like blur, radiohead, travis, even coldplay are....eh alright. same goes with a lot of english indie bands, same goes for american indie bands, they're way to bummed out and down trodden for me and thats why i like hootie

I liked Hootie. Cracked rear window is a very good album.
Now he just sings for BK, what a shame.

I agree with Animaniac. Hootie's Cracked Rear Window was a really good album. "Goodbye" still gets a lot of plays on my Yahoo Radio and iPod.

I honestly really liked "Definitely, Maybe" back when it came out... But that all changed when I fell in love with heavy music. Also... on the whole Darius Rucker being referred to as Hootie... I look at it this way... if you're in a band called "Hootie And The Blowfish" I don't care what you say..... the lead singer is Hootie and the rest of the guys are The Blowfish.

Yeah. I loved everything about hootie when I was a kid. And I may be the only person who can say that, I feel Fairweather Johnson was a good album. And I'm a music snop. HELL YEAHZ TO HOOTIE!!!!!

I always thought it was weak how on I love the 90's, they didn't tear them a new one for sucking so much quality air time on the radio from better bands than them.

If so, I love the term. Hootie was pretty blah. Actually, really blah. I don't know if it's coincidence that their (and many others', to be fair) rise to prominence on MTV/radio in the mid-90's led a teenaged dothebird to seek out the magical worlds of punk, then indie rock. So I suppose I should thank Hootie. And I will, by buying a BK Broiler tomorrow.

What the hell ever happened to Pop-Up Video? I loved that. Then they started with the Behind the Musics and got too big for their britches....

I liked Hootie and the Blowfish. They were a fun band to listen to back when they came out. Though I admit, they just seemed to come out at the perfect time.
Cracked Rear View is still a great album after 10-11 years IMO

"Cracked Rear View" was one of the biggest selling albums of my lifetime and I'm proud to say I own a cassette copy (this was before I owned a cd player) and sang/sing my heart out like a blissfilled fool to "Only Wanna Be With You", no matter how goofy the lyrics are.
