I got this the other day and man is it pissing me off. The series is pretty good overall but there are little things that make me mad as hell. Today, I lost 3 games in a row to the Pirates, I'm playing as the Reds and on the Pro difficulty. The last game went 16 innings and ended 6-5. I was leading 4-1 in the 9th inning and blew it. And every inning I pitched after the 9th, the damn controller would shake and almost every pitch went down the middle of the plate.
If that wasn't enough, the double switch doesn't work and hasn't for some time. Also, they lolly gag a lot: when running and when fielding. Don't get me wrong, I like a sports game that gives me a challenge but I want to feel like I got beat, not cheated. ARGH!

I have that game, and I for one think it is more fun to play against people, not the CPU. The CPU is like the Cena of sports.

MLB 2K6 is without a doubt, the hardest baseball game ever.

I don't even understand the King of the Diamond thing.... It's so confusing.......................... Different game. Thats MLB 06, which is a much better game. I've heard nothing but bad things from MLB 2K6. Once the sports games went exclusive to comanies they began to suck.

Long live the Pirates!

I don't even understand the King of the Diamond thing.... It's so confusing.......................... Its like King of the Mountain. A single means 1 minute in the penalty cage for a catcher, a double means 2 minutes for an infielder, triple 3 minutes for an outfielder. If its a homerun, the pitcher has to run 3 laps around the ballpark and then find the homerun ball, fight whoever caught and give it the the umpire. The batters meanwhile get to pitch to themselves. I like MVP because of the minor leauge system, I like making 1 star players and change them to 5 star players. I consider it giving them some "juice".

All I know is don't pitch low and outside to Jason Bay, that is unless you want him to hit a HR. And the next time I play the Pirates, I'm going to bean him on the first pitch he sees.

I'm more of a MLB 06 The Show guy for standard simulation...
as far as overall fun... Mario Baseball gets the duke. I am SOOOO freaking close to having everyone as superstar, I just need to do something to get Magi-Koopa to the status.

Yeah, Mario Baseball is really fun. As for MLB 06, it's great except two things; there are way too many passed balls and wild pitches (I'm averaging 2 per inning or so, and I'm getting the meter right every time), and the diving function is pretty much useless.
High Heat was always my favorite. Especially 2000 with Sammy Sosa. It's been the only baseball game I've played where you can work the count. Every other baseball game ever, you have to swing at every pitch because there's no way to tell if it's going to be a ball or strike.

High Heat was an incredible game!!! I miss the series so much. I went from that to the EA Sports game (which this years model was looking pretty good. I read somewhere they had been working on a create a team and such).
However, as far as MLB The Show goes... your passed ball situation. Keep in mind that the pitch mark is where the ball STARTS to break, not where it'll end up. I made that mistake, then tried to utilize that as the initiation of the breaking, and it works SOOO much better!
My only problem with the game is the baserunning, which needs a complete overhaul. Other than that, it's a great game.
Excitement runs wild to know that they are making a new Mario Baseball game for the Wii with ONLINE CAPIBILITIES!!!

I've never personally played High Heat, but know of it's infamy on the former G4 show "Judgment Day" ("Reviews on the Run" to all you Canuckleheads) only 'cause Tommy Tallarico gave it a 0/10... never saw the review itself but heard it's pretty damn funny.

Does anyone know why EA stopped making the MVP baseball games? They actually made a college baseball MVP game this year. They had to stop because they lost the MLB license, similar to why Sega Sports and other companies discontinued NFL games 'cause EA got the NFL license exclusive for Madden.
