It's rare, but it's awesome. Feels like a private screening.

It's already happened to me a couple of times this summer, those being Chef and Begin Again (apparently people where I live don't like independent movies). It's a weird experience, but awesome because it's almost like a private screening.

I've come close many times; that happens when you go to the movies on Monday or Tuesday.
When I saw Apollo 18 and No One Lives, only one other person was in the theater.

There was one movie in the late 90's, possibly Sleepy Hollow, which I saw with two friends, and there was only one other person there. I think we went at an unusual time of the week.

It was just my friend and I on the opening day of 12 Rounds. We laughed through the entire movie

It's happened a few times. Hey, when all you go to are matinees it's bound to happen. It's happened to me about two or three times. First time was nearly two years ago when I saw "Raiders of the Lost Ark" in theaters. I was the only one in there. I remember even telling that to the manager. She kind of joked with me about it and I mentioned that I had watched a bit of it on USA about a week before. Your theater had Raiders recently? Why the f*** can't my theater show the old Indiana Jones movies?

Quite a few times as during my UNI days on sometimes my I wouldn't have any classes till the afternoon so an early morning screening on dole bludger Tuesdays would be perfect and often I would be the only person there.

Me and the other kid I went with were the only ones there for Back to the Future 3. Was the weakest of the trilogy but still thought it was weird.

A Few times actually....Usually due to the fact that as a cheapskate I'll go to the bargain theatre AND/Or a Matinee, sometimes even going to a midweek afternoon show (think first few shows around noon or so). The following Either I was the ONLY person in the theater or my party were the only ones.
I've seen......
~ Shark Tale
~ One of the Shreks (I think 3)
~ Looney Tunes: Back in Action
~ The Muppets Most Wanted
And Strangest
~ Guardians of the Galaxy (Last week)
It did inspire me to ask if if nobody buys a ticket...does the movie still play?
Turns out.....Yes, and No.
If it's a computerized projector (i.e MOST theaters) then yes, it does, but if it's a boutique/arthouse theater with an ACTUAL projectionist, then it's likely they wouldn't

I was the only person in the theater when I went to watch The Raid 2. Nice experience, but I wish there were people there to see a real action movie.

Yeah, I was the only there for Beer League. Also, I was one of three people at a showing for Super Size Me. Those are the two that stick out, but I think there's been some others too. Damn,I don't even remember "Beer League" getting to theatres.I'm assuming VERY limited release? As a former huge Stern fan,I bought the dvd when it came out...what a piece of shit.

My mom and I were the only two in the theater for Be Cool. I liked it.

I've been in with only a few people there for morning screenings. It's almost always older people at the cinema I go to for the morning screenings and they have brought their homemade sandwiches and flasks of tea with them, I get a bit jealous haha.

Never the ONLY one, as I usually go with at least one other person.
Closest was opening weekend of Rocky V. There were 4 of us and maybe a smattering of others. On a Saturday afternoon.
UHF was another one where there were probably 10 total people there. The 5 of us practically owned the theater. Until my brother had to get a drink and we thought he wandered into the other theater showing "Shag: The Movie", because he never came back to sit with us. (He said he sat at the back because he couldn't see where we were sitting. Yeah, sure.)

When I saw Winnie the Pooh with my wife we were the only people there without a child under the age of 8.
