Fair enough, but I don't see them going back to focusing as much on the builds as they did back then. I see it more likely being they just have Jamie and Adam do the secondary myth themselves to keep the format the same. I believe that Adam has already said they are going to reboot the show next season to be more like the first two. So while there may be a secondary myth on some shows, it will most likely be tied to the main myth and get very little time. Really? I'll give that a watch then.

I'm going to be brave and put this out there: Kari Byron is attractive. What??!! I must Google this to determine if you have that right or not. [*does Google search] [*spends 1/2 viewing selected pics and videos] I'll be in my bunk.... Did you see the one where she is wearing the red plaid skirt and has the huge metal claw on her hand? Oi, oi, oi.

That was one of my favorite Kari moments for pervy middle-aged men. Others include: - her glorious debut as the butt model for the airplane toilet myth - her swimsuit under her wetsuit during one of their shark weeks - her destroying a car during one of their duct tape specials - her trying out the earthquake simulator

I used to be a big Mythbusters fan, but I don't know, it just wore out on me. Maybe it was too much Adam being Adam or too much focus on the build team, or maybe the quality of the myths themselves. For me, the myths have just become too easy to do. In the first couple of years, before people knew who they were, they'd have to make up a lot of stuff for tests, like in plywood parachute, using a lightbulb as a pressure gauge. Now it's just "we need to test this, and here's the latest human replicating tech", "we need to blow something up, let's just get an insane amount of explosives", "we need to test jumping distance, here's a champion long jumper".

I feel like in a lot of regards the show needs a break. They've sort of exhausted the original concept of the show and it's been noticeable in the quality of the myths and, as much as I don't mind it, the over-reliance on big money shots usually involving lots of explosives.
This is something that Discovery could keep around as specials every now and then as someone mentioned, but I also think for the sake of everyone including Jamie and Adam that it might be time to move on.

From what I've read the big theory is Discover really low balled them in an attempt to cut costs (and as punishment for the cannonball incident) and they walked. I do wonder if Tory is done for good or just going back to being a background builder like he started and was on a few myths this season. So people are already trying to twist this story to make-up non-existent drama with exactly zero evidence behind their claims, heh? Is it really that difficult to accept that sometimes, people just move on? Twist the story? In a tweet in the op, Kari states that they are changing the direction of the show.

Overall, I liked the first new episode, especially how they didn't shy away from actual science content, with explanations for the things they used, and pop-ups. Maybe they've taken the criticism about being more about nothing but big explosions in recent years to heart. And Jamie and Adam seemed energized and motivated.
Not sure about the new theme music though.
