Funny how I start reading this thinking it's dependent on Lashley's health, then figure out that it's that TNA doesn't want a MMA loser as their champion.

He's been the best TNA World Champion since Bobby Roode, so this just figures.

That's so TNA.
If you let your World Champion compete in an MMA fight, you might be TNA.
If you base your booking decisions on what happens in said MMA fight, you're definitely TNA.

See nothing wrong with it personally, if Lashley wins TNA would be attempting to crack into another demographic and audience, sure its a risk though because if he loses it would be embarrassing.

I have been questioning this for weeks and probably should have thought about this earlier can someone find the timeline of the last set of NYC tapings and the Bellator bout being announced? Just wondering if maybe TNA couldn't do anything because of the taping schedule.

I think it's generally understood that when two professional fighters fight, one is gonna win and one is gonna lose. I don't think it's that embarrassing.

Can we just take a second to appreciate the fact that Bobby Lashley went from punchline to legitimately one of the most entertaining parts of TNA in these waning days? Lashley is that f***ing dude and I look forward to his segments.

I hope he drops it to Low-Ki who challenges him for not inviting him into their African-American Cadre.
Oh - wait. Is LowKi black?

It's a shame that TNA is TNA so nobody gives a shit because Lashley would so much money in any other company if he was booked like he is now and had a mouthpiece.

Nothing like putting your booking plans that are completely make believe in the hands of a real event you have no control over.

Before Brock's recent booking, I thought Lashley was the best booked heel in wrestling. He's been great in this role.

I've always liked him, but WWE did a terrible job of a) shoving him down our throats and b) letting him talk. He was always a pretty good wrestler though. LOVED the match he had with Cena at uhh... Great American Bash 07 maybe? 08? Yea, very good match. Lashley is awesome. Just needs his weakness of talking to be hidden.

To be fair, you're also describing Antonio Inoki's booking strategy for the last 12 or so years. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}It's a bad idea in Japan as well.

Let's hope Lashley wins, otherwise I see TNA bringing in Josh Burns the same way they did with Tito Ortiz.

Or to "TNA It Up" a little:
Elevation X Liver Enzymes.

Thing is that if Lashley wins this fight, then he looks "legit" as a champion. If he loses, then it arguably buries TNA and pro wrestling as a whole because Lashley looks like a paper champion who can only beat up on smaller guys in fixed contests but can't hang with real fighters his own size.

WWE would be stupid to book Brock the way they have if there was a chance of him losing MMA fights.

I see your point, I can only speak for myself but I personally just don't see it as a big deal. If he wins TNA has bragging rights, if he loses nothing's really forcing them to even address it. I think it's crazy that Lashley's trying to juggle both anyways, and I think most people recognize that pro wrestling and MMA are two different animals, if it turns out he's more proficient at pro wrestling than MMA I think anyone who watches both understand the difference.
