During the filming of "Phenomena" (also released in the US as "Creepers"), a chimpanzee bit off one of Jennifer Connelly's fingers and it had to be surgically re-attached. It was her first starring role.

It was her first starring role. Silent film icon Harold Lloyd had his index finger and thumb blown off by a prop bomb, causing him to wear a prosthetic hand in many of his films. Movies are not an easy career on the hands.

The only line of dialogue in Mel Brooks's Silent Movie is spoken by famed mime Marcel Marceau.

During filming of the horror film "City of the Living Dead", actor Christopher George and director Lucio Fulci fought constantly. There was a scene in the film where an office window is flung open and high winds blow maggots onto the main characters. Fulci had the makeup artists put spirit gum on the faces of the actors in the scene so that the maggots would stick... but told the actors it was just to make them look sweaty.
George got Fulci back later by filling his briefcase with maggots.

In the Dirty Dozen the scene where Jim Brown drops grenades down the ventilation shaft while running at full speed was originally suppose to go to Trini Lopez.
In the 1928 movie Noah's Ark three extras drowned in the climatic flood scene. Two other extras used in that flood scene would later become well known actors whose names were John Wayne and Andy Devine.
In the movie Wild Boys of the Road after the Judge lets the kids go he looks at a photograph of his son. The son in the photograph is a young Alan Hale Jr.

My favorite fact is in Final Destination 5 {Spoiler}The diner Sam worked for and was flying to Paris to work for is the exact same restaurant where Carter was killed at the end of the original FD film

Jim Brooks wanted the "Kamp Krusty" episode of the Simpsons to be the feature, in the end the idea was dropped when the writers strained to fill 20 minutes and even added verses to the Kamp Krusty song and used still photographs at the end to get it to running time.
The music in the Big Lebowski always has a source, for instance in the dream sequence when Dylan's "the Man in Me" is played over the dream, it's revealed to be coming from the Dude's walkman.
Every image Dude sees in the "Gutterballs" dream of his shown in the background before in other scenes, which is where the Dude saw the images to dream about. (I hope that makes sense).

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 2 made only a little more than 53 million dollars less in its opening day at the box office than every WWE studios film combined during their entire box office run.

Tony Cox (best known as Billy Bob Thornton's sidekick in Bad Santa) played the Ewok that took a Speeder for a joyride in Return of the Jedi.

Would-be Ant-Man star Patrick Wilson has been married to both cinematic Betty Ross actresses, Jennifer Connelly in Little Children and Liv Tyler in The Ledge. Both movies, incidentally, center around infidelity: in Little Children, Wilson's character cheats on his wife, while in The Ledge, the plot centers around Wilson's character finding out his wife is having an affair. Something I just noticed watching Little Children right now.

The little boy who played Danny Torrance in The Shining didn't know he was in a horror movie until years later.
Likewise with Linda Blair in The Exorcist.

Rise of a Nation, a continuation of the influential and infamously racist Birth of a Nation film was the first film sequel, but has since been considered lost.

In 'The Shining', every time Jack talks to a "ghost", there's a mirror in the scene, except in the food locker scene. This is because in the food locker scene he only talks to Grady through the door. We never see Grady in this scene.

The little boy who played Danny Torrance in The Shining didn't know he was in a horror movie until years later. Likewise with Linda Blair in The Exorcist. In line with The Shining example, Kubrick never told Slim Pickens that Dr Strangelove was intended as satire. Pickens played the role entirely straight under the misdirection of it being a serious war film.

Woody Allen didn't tell the actors in his movie "Everyone Says I Love You" that the movie was a musical until they signed their contracts. Only two of the actors had their singing voices dubbed in... Goldie Hawn (because she was too good) and Drew Barrymore (because she was too bad).
