whatculture.com/wwe/10-british-wrestlers-who-had-profound-impact-in-america.php{Spoiler}1: "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith 2: William Regal 3: Billy Robinson 4: Dynamite Kid 5: Paige 6: Doug Williams 7: Chris Adams 8: Magnus 9: Fit Finlay 10: Rockstar Spud The list was compiled by Dean Ayass, who has been involved in British wrestling for around 20 years, and has served nearly every role in wrestling other than being a wrestler there can be. So I'd guess he'd know a successful British wrestler when he sees one.

I'm sure Lord Alfred Hayes deserves a spot in there more than Paige.

I'm not gonna pretend to be all that knowledgeable about the details of the history of British professional wrestling, but surely there have to be better choices then Paige, Magnus and Spud?

As far as impact on American wrestling goes, Rollerball Rocco. Didn't even have to work here and he was still a major influence.

First thought looking at the title was Davey Boy was number 1 and I'm glad I'm right.

That's what I was thinking. Chris Adams trained Steve Austin, which would make his impact far greater than that of Paige by default.

Dynamite Kid should be number 1. Why? What did he do that was so special? Helped spread the crusierweight style that started in the UK and made its way to Japan and eventually the US. Go search on youtube for his early 80s matches against Tiger Mask, they have a very modern feel to them. That's why Madison Carter also brought up Rollerball Rocco a few posts up, Dynamite, Tiger Mask and Rocco (as Black Tiger) were the main guys doing that style overseas.

Where's Big Daddy? Giant Haystacks? They didn't really have an impact in America at all. Haystacks had a run in WCW as Loch Ness which was cut short by his cancer diagnosis. Big Daddy never competed outside of the UK.

I can understand Magnus being on the list for winning a World Championship in the US, even if it's only the TNA title, but Rockstar Spud? How? Why?

Davey Boy may have been the bigger "star" of the Bulldogs, but Dynamite was far, far more influential on subsequent generations of wrestlers.

This list is terrible. Paige is still in the pupa stage of her WWE career and winning the Divas title means as much as winning a participation trophy in kids soccer. I like Spud but he is nowhere in the top 10 of UK talent who made an impact in the US. Not even the top 20. And while Magnus became the first British based world champion in 100 years, he is a non-factor in TNA after having a terrible title run. The lack of actual research is quite telling.

Considering Paige grew up in a wrestling family, I feel she would probably put out a better top 10 list, and it likely wouldn't have her on it.
