So "The Body" has joined the ranks of the podcasting world. As well as wrestlers, he's interviewing politicians (obviously off-limits for this board), entertainers, and conspiracy theorists (of course). Gonna listen to the Jericho, Piper, and Goldberg episodes at work later. Anybody else checked this out yet? www.podcastone.com/We-The-People-with-Jesse-Ventura

Not interested personally. Believe what you wanna believe when it comes to conspiracy theorists but I really dislike the arrogant tone Jesse takes when anyone challenges his point of view.

Jesse's world will eventually implode on himself as he slowly comes around to the idea that he himself is a secret CIA plan to take over the world and destabilise everything. I expect this to happen around about episode 182.

That's not really limited to Jesse though. Conspiracy theorists in general have an arrogance about them, and are very self-congratulatory about how they've got it all figured out and the rest of the world need to wake up.

I used to be a big fan of Jesse Ventura. Then, I figured out that him passing himself off as one of "the people" and using "straight talk" is just him oversimplifying virtually every topic so that it will fit his narrative and make him sound like an authority on literally everything. Without getting political, I will say that I detected a subtle change in his on-air personality after he got into politics. I always enjoyed him in WWE, but in WCW he came across to me as bullyish and condescending. Just watching Beach Blast '93 the other day, and I wanted Tony Schiavone to kick him in the face.
So yeah... I might listen to one of his wrestler episodes out of curiosity, especially if it's a guest who can hold his own with him, but otherwise not interested.

Can't stand Jesse Ventura since he's become a conspiracy nut

Just because you don't buy the official story on some things like the Kennedy assassination or 9/11/01 doesn't make you a "conspiracy theorist" in my eyes, but when Jesse did that TV series about conspiracy theories, it made him look like he was in the same league as Alex Jones. I'm not so sure that Jesse is really the conspiracy theory wackjob that people make him out to be, but he certainly painted himself into that corner.

Has Jesse ever been on Coast to Coast AM? He seems perfect for that show.
On a side note: I miss you, Art Bell.

He needs to make sure the walls of his studio aren't covered in thermite paint.

Listened to the Jericho and Piper episodes. Both were preceded by about 30 minutes each of Jesse's views on current events at the time of recording (his lawsuit against Chris Kyle, and the events in Ferguson), which I found interesting and in agreement with for the most part.
As for the interviews themselves, they weren't bad. Lots of reminiscing about the good old days with Piper, and a good discussion about wrestling in general with Jericho.
For the sake of my blood pressure I think I'll avoid the latest episodes, which are about 9/11 "Truth", but I'll definitely check out his wrestling-based episodes in future.

While I love the guy's past work, once he fell into the conspiracy vortex I don't really have any interest.

This isn't a Zeb Colter podcast? A Dutch podcast would probably be awesome.

There have been three great episodes with Jericho, Piper and Goldberg. Wasn't looking forward to this at first, but I love it.

I've lost some good friends, and just generally put those people on ignore or avoid them altogether. There is no point having a discussion with them.
