Harvey Bullock is amazing in this show, second to only Penguin. Last night MARCO.... was great. I loved that in Arkham City Zaszz's subquest involved payphones and we see he is using a "antiquated" phone

Gotta give them credit, I didn't quite see that twist at the end coming and it explains a ton about Penguin's actions.
And yeah, Penguin's actor carries this show on his back something fierce. Acting all around is good outside of some stray bits, but that guy kills it.

Just got around to watching the latest episode, the Penguin has shockingly now become my favorite Batman villain in his rogues' gallery solely because of this show, but of course we haven't yet met the 'clown' who killed Bruce's parents yet.
Well I guess technically Penguin is Gordon's nemesis/forced ally in this series not really Batman's at all. Yet.

Acting all around is good outside of some stray bits, but that guy kills it. More than anything, the quality of the acting is what's helping this show stay afloat. There's some serious talent on-board and it's bolstered the whole thing. Although, it helps that they're moving away from the contrived setup of the first few episodes and... {Spoiler}...towards the narrative of the gang war. I also like how they've written the whole thing. Every character seems to have strengths and weaknesses that make it compelling:
-Falcone: Extremely competent and wise, but overwhelmed by how many people are trying to take his Empire from him and will take whatever help he can get.
-Penguin: Cowardly and slimy but simultaneously possesses an animalistic cunning and a towering intellect.
-Fish: Not as smart as she thinks she is, and is way too bold for her own good. She believes she can outwit Penguin, and she has more power at first. Not a match for Falcone, but he's got so many loose ends to deal with that she can nibble away at his strength.
-Maroni: Brave but overconfident and pretty naïve. He has the ability to challenge Falcone but not really the infrastructure or power to rule Gotham.

I hope if this show gets a second season it starts off with Gordon announcing that Barbara's left him. I don't know how the show did it, but they somehow managed to make a lesbian pothead completely unentertaining. She's just not an interesting character in her own right and seems to only exist to give Gordon an excuse to not go into full Punisher mode.
If the show is a success she can show up again in a couple of years surprising Jim with James Jr.

Missed it this week, how was it? 'Twas good. {Spoiler}Bullock got the rest of the GCPD to rally behind Jim.
Bruce beat the shit out of a boy named Tommy Elliot (spoiler alert: Tommy'll grow up to be the villain Hush).
Gordon beat the shit out of Blackmask.
Oswald continued to do his thing.
Selina Kyle showed up again.

Really heavy episode that crammed a bunch in, for the most part. Still rather enjoyable, but I feel like they're cramming the stories in to prepare for a muzzle loader level boom in a couple episodes.

I like this show but too feel like they're cramming too much in every episode. Still weird to me that Ryan Atwood moved from The OC to Gotham and is the Ultimate Badass while Bruce's Wayne's a little nerdboy.
