That actor that plays Victor is fantastic. He's great in Bill Hader's show on HBO. I'd love to see him get the chance to carry a show on his own.

Bane sounds exactly like Jigsaw from the Saw movies.

I just got caught up on Gotham last week. I was huge into it until the start of season 3 and Jervis just annoyed the hell out of me. I didn't know that this was the last season, so I caught up in time for the last 2. Season 3 ended up great, and it just got better from there.
This episode seemed like a series finale to begin with. I know that there's a time-jump (and reddit spoiled a re-casting of Catwoman), but this still tied up a lot of what was built. The conversation between Alfred and Bruce got to me, and had a feeling of finality to it. I know Penguin/Nygma pivoted, and Nyssa (who does nothing for me in a series of larger than life villains, and also Theo Galavan) escaped with the sub. Pengy and Riddler had such a strong episode, as usual. Their knife standoff was so fitting. I'm really going to miss Penguin going on a screaming rant. He really is the best part of this show.
Edit: shoutout to Barbara's knife line.

lol, well now you spoiled the re-casting. The penultimate episode "They Did What?" did seem more like a finale since it resolved pretty much the entire season's storyline. I guess the army realized they don't have to follow some murdering freak when there are so much more of them. It's odd how there is a relationship arc between Gordon and Penguin. They really have been through a lot together. I wasn't sure about Bruce and Selina knowing each other since they were kids, but I like it now.
Next week lets do the time jump yeah. Previews indicate 10 years have passed.

This season has been a bit of a disappointment for me. I’ll watch the finale when it airs, but I’m not feeling like I’ll miss the show when it’s done. Overall I do feel that’s a shame, since I’ve loved some of the actors’ takes on the characters and some of the simply insane stuff they’ve done.

So the series finale comes out on opening night of End Game. Good thing I have DVR.

Series finale has a trailer:
.....holy smokes.
I'll be one of those folks not at a movie theatre - or one that's been watching this show a ton (binged a BUNCH of it on Netflix last year, fun stuff) - I'll definitely be checking this out.

Watching that trailer, I'm just thinking how I want that show now. Lili Simmons looks like a great Selina Kyle and it's only one episode. I wish DC Universe can make a spinoff or something.

This does not look like it's going to resolve Balloonman's storyline in the slightest.

This does not look like it's going to resolve Balloonman's storyline in the slightest. I asked The Gotham Writers Twitter account about The Balloonman's whereabouts. I have received no reply.

They didn't call him Joker, but they didn't say Batman either. They should have done a recast for Bruce. The onscreen absence was intentional, but distracting if you will.

Well that was the end of Gotham. A thoroughly insane show from beginning to end.
Ecco's death kinda makes sense for a future Harley Quinn. It would explain why the Joker just never killed Harley when she started becoming more trouble then she was worth, because she reminded him of someone that somewhere deep in his wrecked psyche he genuinely cared about at one point.
I kinda wish Zsasz would've showed up in some form. He was an awesome character.
The show never did give us a final resolution on Barnes and Sofia Falcone. I know you can always say they're still around for Batman to deal with in the future, but their stories seemed to be so personally tied to Jim Gordon's that it feels unsatisfying that Gordon never got final confrontations with them this season.

Welp there goes another show I watched regularly. Sure it had flaws like keeping fish around way too long.
Barbara’s character being meh for the most part.
But I got attached to this crazy show.
I’ll miss Selina and first season Harvey the most.

Zsasz definitely earned at least an appearance on the finale, but it may have been hard to shoehorn him in there given the settings. Also, Barbara looked amazing. I'm really gonna miss hearing Robin Lord Taylor scream about everything all the time.

They should've made this a two hour episode. Too much fit into one series finale. I actually liked that they kept Batman off screen for the most part. We know who he is and this show really wasn't about him. It was about Riddler and Penguin and Gordon and all the other characters. I wish Cameron Monaghan had more time to show what he could do.
The show had some growing pains for sure but once it got it's footing it's been a fun time. Will miss it, but glad it's ending before it goes too long. I think it's ending at a good length.

It ended exactly how Ben McKenzie said it would when the show started. Batman would not appear on screen until the final scene of the final episode.
