What did you think about it? I thought it was cool as hell. I had wished I had a PC at the time to play it

IDKFA should have been put in the dictionary in the 90's

What Victor Von Doom does in the privacy of his bedroom is his business.

I'd like to think everybody who ever played the game killed themselves within 11 seconds of acquiring the rocket launcher for the first time

I mostly just thought that Wolfenstein was cooler. And I don't think I knew what Nazis were at the time.

It was wild. I looked at it as a four year old that has never seen a single video game might look at like a CoD now.
I was a console kid. There were no such games, really. It was so visceral to be placed in the actual perspective of a guy making things die with guns. The enemies, physical atmosphere, frantic gameplay and the soundtrack created such a tense bleak atmosphere. Plus, the level design was phenomenal. It was hard to stop playing it.
Fast forward to now, and I HATE FPS games with all my heart. They're all pretty much exactly the same.
Doom really put a spin on Wolfenstein. A shame you don''t really see that anymore.

I played the original Doom and its sequel. Had fun with both of them. I've only really played them on the PC back in the days of DOS.

I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread when I played it at my best mates house.

I didn't get to play Doom until sometime after 2000 so I was pretty late to the party.

I liked it. I sort of preferred Wolfenstein over it, but mainly because my PC ran Doom a little slow and Wolfenstein ran perfectly. Once I upgraded the computer it was an obsession of mine to finish it.

I really enjoyed it at the time. I actually managed to convince my school's head of I.T. to sanction installing a deathmatch server on the school's LAN, which was incredibly popular.
I went back and played it a few months ago and found it virtually unplayable, thanks to nearly ten years of becoming accustomed with modern FPS mechanics.

What went wrong with Doom 3 Doom 3 was not bad it was to dark but that was not a huge issue and added to the atmosphere at times. It got a lot of flack it did not deserve because people erroneously felt like Half life 2 was better. The original Doom was an amazing game. It had a great sense of atmosphere game play that had never been done that well or balanced before. Wolfenstein created the genre of FPS but Doom defined it until Half Life came out 5 years later. It really built on games like Eye of the Beholder and Wolfenstine before it to create something better that felt exciting and new. It was a game I wanted to learn everything about I read everything I could about it.

It was awesome. I only had the first episode, but once I found out the codes, I did everything I could to break that game.
The music kicked so much ass. 90's PC games was truly the golden age of PC games, but that was quickly halted when The Sims came out.

They were just as amazing.
