Starr's son reported the former golden age wrestler known for his ballet gimmick has passed away at the age of 83.
Helluva character and a helluva wrestler. RIP, Ricki.

A shame that 83 is like 117 in wrestler years.
A ballet gimmick seems kind of genius and to the point for a schtick.

whenever I would watch wrestling when my aunt and uncle were over they would have the exact same conversation with my father with them talking about Gorgeous George and Ricki Starr. it would literally be a word for word repeat every single time.

Gorgeous George might have been the star and had the historical legacy, but Starr was right there with him, successfully (just not *as* successfully) breaking some of the same taboos of the sport. I'm actually sort of surprised to find he doesn't have a Wikipedia page.
