When you make yourself, do you put yourself on your favorite team or do you opt to play for somebody else? In Madden 25 when I made myself (and this had a lot to do with Peyton Manning being a 96 overall while I was a 70 something; before I found out "Instant Starter" was a thing), I put myself on the Jags instead of the Broncos. Why? I really don't know; it just kind of seemed more fun to go to another team, and I've developed a soft spot for the Jags because of it. Now, in Madden 15, I made myself and opted to make myself a Titan instead of a Bronco. I'm not remotely close to being a Titans fan, but it just sounded fun to me. So, FAN, what do you do; fulfill your fantasy of playing for your favorite sportsball team, or do you pick a random team?

I really only play MLB The Show, so in the past, you could have selected your team or entered the draft. I always enter the draft.
I was drafted by the Astros in 2013's game. Very happy with that, as by the time I was FA eligible, the Astros were the best team in the AL West, so it made it SUPER easy to become a career Astro...

I always choose a crap team. Something I can build into a serious contender from the ground up.

Always my favorite team. Raiders in every Madden I've played and in 2k.

In FIFA it has this thing.
When you start a career (unless you play as a already established player) your overall score is around 70. So if you pick a team like Arsenal or Real Madrid they will probably loan you to lower a league club like Ipswich Town or Exceter City so you can build your skills up. And once the skills are built the big team will recall you to the team.
So yeah I should answer the question. Yes, but I use a different name (one that the commentators will say) and the team I pick is Manchester Utd (I would pick Stockport County but they are so far down the English football rankings that they are not in the game) and loaned to Football League side Ipswich Town. Making good progress already had a couple of international call ups.

I used to, but I found always being the Canucks meant I never played some teams and made it too hard to part with players I should have. Since, you can't enter the GM mode with draft day authentic picks and custom rosters, I just make myself the GM of a team and build them up.

Don't often play 'em, but when I do play FIFA, I always go Liverpool. Like Gojira said, they usually loan you for a while before you can move on up. I do remember in FIFA 14 though, they let me play on the main squad for some reason, and I scored 3 goals to give us the win, so they rewarded me by telling me I had a bright future, then benching me for the next 5 games. Go figure.

Never did that in Madden , but in NHL and MLB the show I would always pick my favorite teams. Usually a wingman and whatever outfield position the big club sucked at (usually left)

I opt to play on where ever I end up drafted after the pre career things. Except maybe if its a rival

This thread reminds me. Bring back High Heat Baseball for the PC dammit.....
They did bring back Front Row Sports Football, now just need a baseball game to go with it.

I always go with Newcastle first, later I'll start a new game with the lowest ranked North East team so either Hartlepool or York this year.

I only do NBA2K and you just play where you are drafted. I always go for a Center I like to make him 7'3 that makes him a foot taller than me though sometime 7'2 is a high as you can go which is absurd. Only thing I dislike is they make your character so terrible at the beginning.

I prefer to make crappy teams good ones, like in Madden 2005, I try to make teams like the Lions, Cardinals, and Browns into contenders.

No. I have finally come to accept the fact that a modestly muscled, moderately athleticc 5'10 170lb. 31 year old that quit playing sports in high school will never be a sports superstar. Hell, you can't even create guys that are as old as me in some cases.

I try to take the crappy teams to the top.
Right now I'm playing a career mode as the head coach of Temple in NCAA Football 07, and despite my best season being a 9-4 year, and most of my seasons being losing ones, and even in a good year, more times than not, we barely end up bowl eligible at 6-6, they still keep giving me contract extensions. Probably because every time we go bowling(which has been every non-losing season), we win the bowl game, so Temple is 5-0 in bowl games under me(also keep in mind that back when this game came out Temple had only been to 2 bowl games in their entire history). So I guess they will gladly accept the occasional bowl appearance with the trade off being a lot of losing seasons.

I did that for a Madden season or two, but would always simulate games against my team.
