Did they ever explain who the hell he was? I mean that guy killed Hulkamania (in the WWE at least) for a whole 9 years. Talk about biggest heel ever.

It was the same guy who raised the briefcase at King of the Ring 1999 and knocked over the light during CM Punk's. He's a menace

It was Harvey Whippleman, although only playing the role of somebody who was only acknowledged as a photographer.

Hogan got his revenge by spawning an unphotogentic daughter years later.

It was Harvey Whippleman, although only playing the role of somebody who was only acknowledged as a photographer. If Hulk had stuck around, it would have made sense from a kayfabe standpoint should they have done the reveal. Whippleman would still hold a grudge that Hogan drove Sid out of the company at Wrestlemania VIII, and this could have transitioned into a Hogan/Giant Gonzalez feud.

I am! Was it really? I thought it was never confirmed? I think that "reveal" was a joke it was never "revealed" but it was heavily implied that it was. Stipulation of no one in the corporation could interfere or Vince and Shane lose. Bossman gets fired from the corporation... the briefcase was raised the next night on RAW Bossman was rehired into the corporation.

I am! Was it really? I thought it was never confirmed? I think that "reveal" was a joke The "No Corporation interference" rule was made, then Boss Man got kicked out, then that happened, then he was welcomed back the next night because "I LOVE YEWWWWWW GUYSSSSSSS!" I think it was legit.

I think it was legit. I guess people forget that because subtlety wasn't Vince Russo's best quality. This moment had an unsung markout moment when Bossman comes out to "Hard Time". As for the cameraman, I thought it was a way to explain Jim Cornette coming onto Team Yoko, since he was a photographer before becoming a worker.

They may have planned to reveal it, assuming Hogan would always come back. Once it was clear Hogan wasn't returning, then there was no point. It was Harvey Wippleman, but this was not revealed on television or PPV. I think they had plans in the back of their head for a Hogan/Giant Gonzalez match. They did film a showdown following a tag team lumberjack match from a TV taping. This image is from that:

Well. ...........I am stunned, really.

I am baffled by the idea of this level of subtlety in a mid-1999 WWF storyline.

I think they'd assume Hogan is pointing at the naked hairy man to ask where his clothes are.

I believe they did reveal it was Harvey in WWF magazine. I don't even think WWF(E) tries to hide it in katfabe on the super rare occasion they might acknowledge this ever happened.
I've certainly known it was Harvey for the last 20 years.

WWF Magazine posted it was Harvey. I'll dig out the issue to prove it here shortly. I just loved how on tv they kayfabed it and pushed it under the rug making it to someone who didn't buy the PPV that Hogan lost clean.
