(gif credit to the great Wrasslor Monkey) On the one hand it helped make it look more real but on the other hand it kind of killed the segment as Rusev paused awkwardly and the soldier looked like a total spaz who deserved to be kicked in the face.

He was being held, you see him kick someone to the floor.

Yeah the way that Rusev and the security reacted really made it seems real.

I wonder if Show punched out those security guards for daring to put their hands on an American Soldier.

Sorry, this isn't gonna get me to side against Rusev. Dude was looking out for himself when an asshole fan decided to run into the ring. He was totally in the right.

Next week they should have an armed forces challenge match between an American soldier and Rusev's brother Alec Rusev ( Rusev in camo and a fake moustache) whose a member of tbe Russian army.

You never know with fans, and usually wrestlers either attempt to subdue the person or outright hit them to stop them. Eddie Guerrero was the best example of this who punched a jumper during a ladder match with RVD. I guess I've been watching too long just remembering that. But seriously, how does this not encourage jumpers?

He wasn't trying to attack Rusev, he was trying to get away from that dude grabbing his junk.

My biggest disappointment is, we saw Show go off hunting for Rusev after finding his lockeroom empty and then.......... nothing.
We had time to get the Wyatt segment repeated but no more of Show hunting Rusev?

It would have been more interesting if they treated it like it was legit by not drawing attention to it and avoiding showing the plant on camera. The announcers no-sell it as well. Since the announcers, Big Show, and WWE camera shots all acknowledged him, it came off like an angle.

There are some morons out there. The whining about the soldier segment on facebook from losers who have decided to get offended by it is pathetic. People saying they're not watching WWE again, saying it was offensive, disrespectful, bad taste and other nonsense.
No wonder WWE doesn't take risks anymore. People are so bloody easily offended nowadays.

I'm offended by how bad the writing was.
People jumping the guardrail are NEVER the good guys. That is not the kind of thing you want to even jokingly encourage. Strike 1
This wasn't even some "normal" screwball. It was supposed to be a member of the US military. And thus, a combat trained, possibly armed dude in fighting shape. A dangerous guy, running for a wrestler...and the woman who manages him. Strike 2
It makes the military look TERRIBLE. Strike 3
Big Show losing his **** about something that even the most casual fan knows is S.O.P. What exactly was Rusev supposed to do? Let the soldier hang out in the ring? With Lana? Politely ask him to peacefully exit the private property he just tresspassed into on worldwide TV? Strike...4? Maybe we're bowling, now?
I don't for a second believe that WWE is trying to book some "ugly American" angle here, where most of the "patriots" gunning for Rusev are flag-waving xenophobes, although that would be kind of awesome. It's just bad writing.

Big Show is a dumbass for not expecting Rusev to tear down the flag, exactly like how Big Show did to the Russian flag a few weeks ago.
That alone had me facepalming the whole thing.

I personally loved the segment. Goofy segments like this are why I love wrestling.
