Candace Buckner is the Indianapolis Star's Pacers reporter, but as far as I'm concerned, she is the type of sports reporter who is afraid to be objective and tends to be more of a "rah-rah!" kind of reporter. Anyway, I had promised never to post any Indy Star links again, but I find this befuddling... www.indystar.com/story/sports/nba/pacers/2014/10/27/pacers-roy-hibbert-last-season-change/18030593/In other words... Roy's feelings got hurt, and everybody else on the team wants to shield him from those mean things all the bad people have said about how Roy Hibbert played at the end of last season. Look, I understand Roy's problem, largely due to the fact that some of the criticism is the destructive kind that people like to revel in when they are kicking somebody when they are down (especially when their counterargument is "You suck, and your words mean nothing because you suck!"). But, there's also valid criticism & constructive criticism, and let's be honest; Roy has always had psychological problems since high school. He is an enigma, and while it is often a good idea to avoid reading what people have to say, it is an even better idea to put your foot forward and decide to prove all the naysayers wrong by becoming a true impact player. The Pacers talking about trying to develop opportunities for him should actually be the other way around. And, with the Lakers... it's gonna be a long season.

When it was first built it was made on the cheap and was already out dated. The arena only has one loading dock thus we can't get big name concerts in Sacramento. It's location isn't the best as it's in the suburbs and now that we're building our new arena downtown we think it will help the surrounding businesses with foot traffic. During the last few seasons of Maloof ownership they really let the building go into disrepair. Broken toilets, leaky roof, dangerously dark parking lot with potholes, and broken seats. One thing I will say about Arco is that it's loud as hell and that there isn't a bad seat in the house, but the new arena will be the most technologically advanced arena in the world and is gorgeous based on the renderings.

Looking forward to the Bulls and Knicks tonight, an early test to see where both teams stand. Think the Bulls, depending on Rose's health throughout the season, will be the biggest challengers to LeBron and the Cavs in the East, with I think the Wizards and the Heat up there too.

This is the first time in my life that the Lakers are just straight up hopeless. I've seen bad Laker teams, but at least 04-05 and last season had some sense of optimism at the end of the tunnel. This is a weird experience for a lot of us The RAndy Pfund 93-94 team was pretty bad. When Sedale Threatt was the leader that was horrible. Not to mention EA Sports gave him Magic's no look layup in one of their games

Frank Vogel would have never started Sloan & Copeland last season, but so far, they are servicable, although Hibbert already is his playoff self. And Julius Randele is done for the year, yet another blow to the Lakers.

I have a ticket with my name on it for tonight's game, but Unfortunately I'm sick and can't make it. The Kings should win this one tonight. We always win our home opener.

Charlotte, down at one point by 24 to Milwaukee, have fought back in their home opener to take the game to overtime

Hell of a first victory by Miami tonight! Norris Cole surpassed his career high, Chris Bosh looked great in his new leader role, Dwyane Wade can shoot the 3-ball, and in his first NBA regular season game, James Ennis made Rasual Butler his bitch! All in all, a fun night for basketball in Miami.

I am so in love with the Russell Westbrook solo experience right now. I hope Durant takes his sweet time recovering

All in all, a fun night for basketball in Miami. To be fair, it is Washington and it is a fellow East team. No way Miami should've struggled with them. Their real tests will come against teams like Chicago, maybe Cleveland, and well that's it really.

Lance Thomas making a surprisingly good showing for the Thunder. I liked what I saw from him when I went to a preseason game between the Thunder and Grizzlies, but that was preseason, so who f***ing cares? But still, he's making the most of his chance.
