3-2! San Fran keeps pressing.
Can't believe we're seeing a bullpen battle so early, but then again, that's been the theme of this series thus far, Bums aside.

This could go down as one of the stranger game sevens in World Series history. It's only a 3-2 game, yet neither starting pitcher made it out of the fourth inning. It just feels like we're coming down to a bonkers finish, like a walk-off balk or Sergio Romo hitting a game-winning grand slam in the top of the 14th.

Keep it up San Francisco. Because I don't want to live in a world where the KC is good.

What is the record for hit batters in a world series game?

This is the first World Series game 7 in my lifetime in which I have no obvious rooting interest. In 2011, I wanted the Rangers to win. In 2002, I cheered for the Giants. In 2001, I rooted for the Diamondbacks. Tonight? I just want a great game.

This is turning into one helluva game 7.
Everyone knows MadBum is coming in, Bochy just has to make sure he doesn't fire his gun too early.

In 2001, I wrote a column for my school paper about how rooting for Arizona to beat the Yankees was the definition of patriotism. The basic point it conveyed was that the terrorist attacks on 9/11 wanted to change our way of life forever, and from a sports standpoint, nothing would change my way of life more than being a Red Sox fan cheering for the Yankees. The column itself was wildly flawed, but hey, I was a kid trying to pretend I was some deep-thinking sports columnist.

I hope we aren't blowing our load too soon by using Madison right now. I was thinking he'd come in to close the last 3 innings.

Madison Bumgarner coming into this game to save the Giants' season feels eerily like when Pedro Martinez came into game five of the 1999 ALDS and threw six no-hit innings in relief as the Red Sox eliminated the Indians.
When Bumgarner comes in, the mood at Kauffman Stadium is going to change. Those fans will realize their best chance may have come and gone.

Technical difficulties for the Kansas Fox affiliate? No way will that cause a backlash.

Baumgardner or however you spell it is up I've got a feeling that by the end of tonight, you and the rest of the world will know his name. It's like that "say my name" scene in Breaking Bad. "You're Bumgarner..." "YOU'RE GOD DAMN RIGHT."

An attack in a metro area shouldn't change who we root for in sports. Heck, I rooted against the Bruins and Sox in 2013 despite the patriotic thing being to root for all of Boston. Apologies to mods if this is considered political.

The outs are dwindling and Bumgarner is showing no signs of tiring.

I think regardless of who wins, Bumgarner should get the World Series MVP. He has been that amazing.
