Philadelphia's coming off a last-place division finish and is not expected to contend and Phillies fans have responded by not rushing through the gates.

Friday's 4-1 win over the Washington Nationals drew 19,047 fans, representing the smallest crowd in Citizens Bank Park history. It marks the smallest home crowd since Sept. 3, 2003 against the Montreal Expos when the Phillies were playing at Veterans Stadium and drew 18,002 patrons.

During an impressive run for the franchise in both success and support, the Phillies sold out 257 consecutive games starting in July 2009 and lasting until August 2012. The sellout streak was the longest ever in National League history.

Last time the team started 1-4, 2006. They won 90 that year. (If the second WC was in place then, they'd have been in the playoffs.)
