How the f*** has MLB not announced a postponement of the Orioles game tonight? A f****** disgraceful situation in every way up there since day 1. That's all I'll say.

Ken Rosenthal @kenrosenthal Source: #Rangers’ obligation to Hamilton less than $7M over three years, as was previously reported. Hamilton can opt out after two years…
@kenrosenthal 3m3 minutes ago …#Angels obligated to pay entire buyout if Hamilton opts out. Exact dollar figure of buyout not yet known.

Read something on HBT today regarding the whole DH thing, and a thought occurred to me. I considered a column or blog entry but figured it'd be better conversation here. There's the old anti-DH argument about "They only play part of the game, they're not real ballplayers", and so I got to thinking. If, to be eligible ("morally") for the Hall, one has to play both offense and defense, then shouldn't American League pitchers get the same scrutiny for not playing "the full game"? Pedro and Johnson, they played some years in the NL, but would an "entire career in the American League" pitcher get the same nay-saying detraction? Just some food for thought. Every aspect of the DH bugs me, but I don't think I'm all-in on "no DH's in the Hall of Fame" train, so it doesn't bug me if guys who spent the bulk of the careers in the AL pitching make the HoF. For me, it's more the lack of entertainment value I get out of AL games. Anyway, Daniel Murphy is not a good fielder, but he's nowhere near as bad as he's shown this week. Dude's clearly not right; he had a hamstring pull in the Spring, seemed to come back very quickly, and he hasn't done any hitting or fielding thus far, leading to rumblings that the Mets might replace him with prospect Dilson Herrera. I wouldn't be shock if he rushed back, is spending his energy compensating for his hammy, and now has that factor hurting his hitting, which he's taking out into the field with him. Dude was never good in the field, but he hasn't looked this bad in ages. Good news is that he seems to be making better contact lately, but he needs to get his head on straight. Flores should be fine; small sample, but with a slow offensive start he already has the 9th best +fWAR among shortstops in MLB; his bat plays at the position very well, and a few bad defensive games here and there aren't likely going to change that. Not saying he's the long term answer at the position, but he should be fine over 162 games.

Monday's game between the White Sox and Orioles has been postponed due to the protests in Baltimore. If the game gets moved to The nation's capital Washington, D.C. It'll be the first regular season AL games in DC since Nixon was president and the senators forfeited their last home game before moving to Texas.

I wish to take this moment to say that I have never once doubted Daniel Murphy, and he is truly a man among men.

I hate to hear this. As a Detroit Tigers fan, I have always been a fan of Gibson. Regardless of that, I hate to hear about anyone being stricken with this disease. Hopefully one day, they can find a cure for it.

Tuesday's game between the Orioles and White Sox has also been postponed due to what is going on in Baltimore.
*Sigh* Just play the games in Washington DC at this point.

Hopefully one day, they can find a cure for it. Also sad to hear this as he was a great player....sadly, this does make a lot of sense in why he wasn't a good manager for the Diamondbacks as it is kind of hard to manage anything with Parkinson's. Not sure how this is going to work with him being a color commentator for the Detroit Tigers' games. Really hope he retires before it gets to the point of pure sadness that has happened with people with Parkinson's when the speak.

Now confirmed by the Orioles - tomorrow's game against the White Sox will be played behind closed doors, and the weekend series with the Rays will be moved to Tropicana Field.

It's going to be really bizarre watching an empty stadium game.
