Jeff Passan of Yahoo reports that the Braves are close to trading Justin Upton with Seattle as the favorite. Deal should be done today.
Jon Heyman reports that the Mets and Rockies are still talking about Tulo although the chances remain slim. Noah Syndergaard would headline the deal.

Ken Rosenthal just reported that the Padres got Upton. No word on the return yet but have to think RHP Matt Wisler is the main piece.
Edit: Jim Bowden says LHP Max Fried is in the deal. He was arguably their third best prospect.
Edit 2: Add Jace peterson as well. He was another top ten prospect in the system although more on the lower end. 2014 draft pick Michael Gettys may be heading to Atlanta too although just like Trea Turner, would have to be a PTBNL.

I see what you are saying though. If Harvey never is the same again, trading all that pitching could really bite us in the ass. Harvey's health has to be a big consideration. The full Upton to SD has been revealed pretty much. Upton and a low level prospect for LHP Max Fried, 2B Jace Peterson, 3B Dustin Peterson (I believe the two are brothers) and OF Mallex Smith. So SD acquired Kemp, Myers, Upton, and Derek Norris and still held onto their three best prospects (RHP Matt Wisler, C Austin Hedges, and OF Hunter Renfroe.) A.J. Preller is a magician.

I heard Atlanta was offering to trade BJ Upton for a sack of baseballs, but no one bit. They all deemed the baseballs to be too valuable to their organizations.

Braves have traded/lost Heyward, Medlen, and Upton and have basically gained nothing. They have no offense whatsoever outside of Gattis and they're wanting to trade him. I get that they wanted to rebuild, but it seems like they're focusing on pitching and throwing away every offensive weapon they had.
If nothing else, I take solace in the fact that the Braves will be the worst team in the NL and Fredi Gonzalez will finally be fired. Maybe. Hopefully.

Phillies acquired RHP Zach Eflin and LHP Tom Windle from the Dodgers in exchange for SS Jimmy Rollins.

Not a Padres fan per say but it'll be interesting to see how they contend with all of these new players signing.

Yankees pull off a stunner. They trade INF/OF Martin Prado and RHP David Phelps to Miami for RHP Nathan Eovaldi, 1B/OF Garrett Jones, and RHP Domingo German.
Like this move for the Yanks.
