I went to Target on a whim.. Watching the 49ers game at my families' place my cousin says "This sucks, lets go to Target." I begrudgingly went with him, (I've always been one to laugh at Black Friday shoppers) and warned him the second I see I line outside of the store (I hate crowds and strangers) I was going back to the car. I actually got right in, and I bought an Assassins Creed XBone bundle+FarCry4. Was in and out of Target in 20 minutes. I was amazed, especially after only hearing Black Friday horror stories. So I'm happy. Opening earlier, and staggering some of the deals has helped.

Also not too many deals on any Next Gen Games There hasn't been too many deals on video games or Blu Rays from Amazon at all. Last year they had all week deals for a lot of good stuff, season 8 of Supernatural was $20, Assassins Creed 4 wasn't a lightning deal but a deal that was I think 48 hours, along with a lot of other games. This year has been a disappointment. Heck, in years past they'd spread out the video games and DVD/Blu, this year they're pretty much on Thursday and Friday on top of the selection not being great. Could be waiting for Cyber Monday

I was wondering why this day was called Black Friday, After watching some vids from Tesco shops at Midnight this morning I think I get it.
Brings out the Moron in every person, Over crowded, fights happening, People getting hurt, shit they probably don't really want but feel they must have anyway because it's cheap.
Even if I had been tempted to drive up to my Local Tesco's this morning and see what good deals I could get, I'd have seen the ridiculously massive queues, Thought "f*** this" and turned around.
Who the hell thought this was a good idea to bring over to the uk?

I've seen some photos on the BBC website. Yes, this bullshit has spread to the UK too.
People with arms outstretched and anguished looks on their faces, desperately trying to reach for televisions and cameras.
How embarassing.

Ordered one big one yesterday morning, then got up at 4 am to still get some of Walmart's first deals (a few Blu-Rays for me, a Blu-Ray player for my mom.) Granted, my state being one of the few where it's illegal for retailers to be open on Thanksgiving helped make sure it happened, but it was more relaxing than any other time I'd try it.

Especially with this not being a great time to get televisions. Get them around the Super Bowl, the end of the year, in March or April when the new models are coming out and stores are getting rid of their old stock.

Man I'm glad I'm not working in a supermarket any more for crap like this. Christmas is bad enough. Why people lower themselves to this degree is ridiculous.
When did this become a thing in the U.K anyway? I haven't worked in a super market for 2 years and I don't remember this going on. That being said my birthday is in 4 days so I usually have this time of year off.

It's only been a thing here for a couple of years, but it seems to be becoming bigger each year and doesn't look like it's going away. I've also seen the footage on the news, it was kind of predictable how things were going to go.

I know online retailers in the UK have been riding the wave for at least the last few years, but this is the first year I remember actually seeing a TV ad for in-store deals (ASDA).

I didn't see any deals of interest on Amazon today, and I don't hate myself enough to join the buffoons in actual stores today, so no shopping for me. My buddy worked Wal Mart overnight, so I'm hoping for some good horror stories.

I work right next to a Walmart, so when I got out this afternoon, I went in while waiting for my mom. I ended up getting her the Sandlot DVD, and they had Scooby Doo Wrestlemania Mystery, both were $1.96, so I picked that up for my brother.

lol bomb threat at the Wal-Mart near my mom's house. I guess that someone was trying to clear it out so that they could get all of the deals.

Target was pretty mild, honestly. I worked 12-8am, and by the time I got there, it was just a regular shift. About 3 or so, it just died. That last 4 hours of the shift were so boring I was OCD'ing MLP figurines. It started picking back up at the end of my shift. I was expecting a lot worse. The only thing we sold out of was Ipad Minis.

At family dinner (Mom's side) my brother said he was going to my dad & stepmother's to meet them for the 6 pm Walmart sale (they go every year). I decided I would tag along. Dad was after a laptop, Stepmother was after something I can't remember, and my brother was waiting in line for the XBox One Halo bundle for Dad and Stepmother, as it would be a gift for my youngest brother.
I wasn't after anything in particular, but managed to snag the Skylanders Trap Team Starter Pack for WiiU for $37, and two additional characters for $9 each. I was after Disney Infinity, but they were out, and Skylanders looks pretty cool. I also bought Lego Marvel Super Heroes for WiiU for $15, and Don't Break the Ice and Cootie for my son for $5 each. I was disappointed they were out of Super Smash Brothers. Ah well. On to Cyber Monday.

No way in hell would I go out in that madness. I did one time a few years back and that was enough for me. My fiancee loves it, so I always send a list with her. Luckily, she was able to pick it all up. I got...
- 50" TV for $200 - Destiny for PS3 - Some sort of tablet for $25. I forgot where she got it, but she found it stuff behind some junk on a shelf. She called and mentioned she didn't know the brand, but I really didn't care due to the price.
