That's right, it's Thursday and that means ONLY one thing. It's time for the hottest wrestling show in WWE today, NXT. As always it is presented from the NXT Arena at Full Sail University and tonight looks like it's going to be one to remember.
Japanese sensation Hideo Itami has had it rough in recent weeks in his rivalry with The Ascension, often coming out on the losing side of two-on-one beatdowns to the former NXT Tag Team Champions. Last week, he cost them a chance at regaining those titles in a tag team battle royal and went in for further revenge... only for the numbers game to take hold once more. This week, he's promised to bring a friend to even out the odds against Konnor and Viktor, and rumours are flying around as to that man's identity. Tonight, we find out together.
In in-ring competition, Sami Zayn looks to go into top gear on his road to redemption as he battles Tyler Breeze for No. 1 Contendership to Adrian Neville's NXT Championship. Zayn has been on a roll in recent weeks with victories over Titus O'Neil and Tyson Kidd, and despite losing a match to Kidd in a surprise appearance on Main Event earlier this week, Zayn must be considered to have all the momentum going into this match against Breeze, who challenged Zayn to this match at the end of last week's show. Will it be Prince Pretty getting up close and personal with the Helluva Kick, or Zayn taking one more Beauty Shot to go with the one from the first NXT Takeover? The winner goes for the gold!
In women's tag team action, Bayley looks to get revenge on Becky Lynch for her betrayal a couple of weeks ago as she teams up with the NXT Women's Champion Charlotte against Lynch and Sasha Banks. Remember, it wasn't too long ago that Charlotte showed her family nature and betrayed Bayley herself to form The Beautiful Fierce Females with Banks and Summer Rae. However, she seems to have developed a measure of respect for Bayley after a couple of highly competitive title bouts against her. Teaming together for the first time since, can they overcome The Boss and her new Irish partner-in-crime?
And speaking of Tyson Kidd, he has a chance to go three-for-three this week on WWE TV with a singles bout tonight against Dash Wilder of The Mechanics.
All that TONIGHT on NXT!
