Well the Baseball Hall of Fame has just announced it's ballot for this year. Last year we held our own ballot and it's time to do it again.
Like last year the rules are the same as the rules for the BBWAA. You can vote for up to 10 of the players listed here. Any player who gets 75% of the vote gets in. If for some reason you don't think any of the players are worthy then there is a blank ballot option but if you click it you can't vote for anybody else.
Voting will close and the winners will be announced on Jan 5, 2015 one day before the Hall of Fame announces it's results.
For all the grief we give the BBWAA last year we were even tougher, only voting two in. (Greg Maddux & Frank Thomas) Let's see how we do this time.

This guy... If Rose ever gets in they better let Shoeless Joe in. There was never conclusive proof that Joe cheated or bet on a game. Rose admitted to betting on games. Plus Joe's stats are much better than Rose's.

I don't really care about steroids so I voted for Bonds, Clemens, and McGwire. I also voted for pitchers Randy Johnson for being a premier strike-out pitcher and Smoltz for his success as a starting picture (CY Young winner) and then transitioning to be a premier closer. Finally, I voted for Mike Piazza for being perhaps the premier slugger for the catcher position, though I know he eventually moved to first base.

Plus Joe's stats are much better than Rose's. I won't be against Shoeless Joe going in, however the fact of the matter is he knew about the Series being thrown, despite possibly not personally not throwing any games whereas Rose may have bet on baseball, but there isn't any hard evidence that he ever threw any games, nor if he bet against his team. In terms of stats, that's really not fair since Jackson didn't play for nearly as long and had the assistance of playing in a different era, his percentages would have likely dropped had he played as long as Rose did, plus I think Rose's record of hits is going to be a record that stands for a very very very long time. I'd like them both in, but I favor Rose on the basis that he never intentionally, nor was he ever aware of purposely losing from what we know.

I voted for Biggio, Bonds, Clemens, Delgado, Unit, Martinez, McGwire, Piazza, Raines and Smoltz.
My logic for voting for the PED guys is very simple:
Tony LaRussa was elected to the Hall of Fame last year. I read a figure that over 60 per cent of his wins as a manager came with Mark McGwire in his line-up. So the HoF has decided that those who benefited indirectly from the usage of PEDs are perfectly welcome in Cooperstown, but those who used them are personae non grata. That seems massively hypocritical to me in that people can avail themselves of the play of PED users, as long as you are not the users themselves.
I take no issue with placing an asterisk on a PED user's plaque to indicate his usage of drugs or whatever you want, I just think it's so foolish to deny them their place in the Hall. What's worse is that it seems to be self-righteousness and moralizing from self-important sportswriters keeping them from the Hall more than anything else.

I voted
Nomar-Best offensive SS of his era not named A-Rod
Raines-2nd best lead off hitter ever
Schilling-Most dominant post season pitcher ever His stats are insanely good but will struggle to get in for a mix of being an a*hole and his career win total
Sosa-3 straight 60 HR season He been berry berry good to baseball
McGriff-Of all the players to endorse Tom Emansky videos in the early 90s he was chosen
Pedro -Possibly g.o.a.t. for a short while
R. Johnson -all time great pitcher
Bonds -Possibly best ever baseball player
Clemens-Best liveball era pitcher
Trammell- Top 15-20 all time SS which imo is the most skilled position
Ballot is stacked cause I didn't even include Piazza,Biggio,Bagwell and BigMac who should be in the HOF

Sosa and McGwire brought baseball fans back to the sport... But aren't allowed in the hall. Way to go, mlb.
