Still not as bad as "hey, let's film the commentators reading a script and cut to them reading it and not watching a Sting brawl like they're pretending to. Let's also use this shot for the show, which we have like 4 days of time to edit but will leave this, as-is", but going by that, they probably did film it ahead of time. They have ludicrously bad production standards. I still maintain that Tenay and West were watching their monitors, as they would have to in order to watch a brawl in the crowd going backstage. It was still a really bad choice of a camera shot, especially on a taped show. I get what you're saying, but they were holding the papers, so it didn't come across that way. I also wonder why they felt they even needed that shot, like, if they were worried viewers would think the commentators were following them or something.

The way they move their heads/eyes and unnatural pauses make it clear as day that they are just reading their lines off a script, although they are probably checking the monitors too so that they get their lines in at the right time.
