We've done numerous threads about how good looking or how ugly certain title belts are. So what is everyone's thoughts on this? I've got mixed feelings on it, myself. Aesthetically, I feel that it actually looks more like a midcard belt rather than a top prize-but this is probably a result of having grown upsurge the winged eagle in WWF and big goldie in WCW. In particular, I'm used to the idea of the center plate being bigger all around than the side plates. But on the other hand, you can't help but be a little in awe of the legacy, even if this particular belt is no longer what it once was. And compared to other promotions, it is pretty nice in terms if having its own, unique sort of look. Thoughts ?

I love belts with flags on them. The CHIKARA Grand Championship is another one that looks great.

Essentially, THE belt for professional wrestling. I mean, it doesn't mean anything today but all the names that made this prestigious belt and recognition:
Thesz Harley Flair Dusty
A belt that has a very rich history. One of my favorite belts of all time.

To me, it's a matter of passage of time. When the belt is by itself, like it is in that picture, it shows more of it's age. It looks smaller, the design looks like from a period long gone, it doesn't quite do it justice.
But you put that belt into someone's hands, whether it's Race or Dusty or Flair or even a Christian Cage or an Adam Pearce and you instantly feel the legacy of the title. You instantly can recognize how legitimate it looks. It looks like a sports title.

I'm glad that NJPW and NWA are teaming now, because seeing the belt on Kojima and even Rob Conway, I can appreciate the legacy of it. Like it's being defended at THE biggest Japanese wrestling event of 2014, that must say soemthing.

I respect the belt and I appreciate its legacy, but I feel it looks best in aged photographs and that it should be retired.
A model T has a lot of history behind it and a dignity of sorts, but it's still going to look a little funny on the roads today.

I mean, compared to the WWWF Title of Bruno had... Or the early AWA title (used untill the 80's from what I can find... The NWA one looks boss next to those.

Even thought it happened in TNA. I loved the image that Sting held that belt too. I think Joe & Angle would've looked good holding it too Shame Angle kinda beat Sting and Cage for it but then TNA did away with it.

It's a great looking belt.
Not as great as the Winged Eagle though

Part of me would like to see the NWA belt regain its former prestige. But the NWA's model of doing things is outdated and I don't see how it possibly can.

For its time, it was a very striking belt. I still like it, because it looks like a real championship belt, not a sports entertainment belt.
