Is it fair to say that Supes + Bats = Cena + Orton?
And there is a Teen Titans series planned for TNT apparently?
I could live with DC making a TV Universe, as they're competent at this, as opposed to movies. And they are at least trying to get their brand across several networks, rather than Marvel which sticks with ABC & Disney.

If you're gonna make a Superman prequel series called Krypton, it should be about how Jor-El was actually wrong about Krypton's imminent destruction but it's too late as he already shot off the rocket sending Kal-El to Earth. Now Jor-El has to live the rest of his life as being known as the alarmist jack ass who shot his kid out of a rocket through the galaxy. Make it a romantic comedy "....And that Jor-El, is how I met your mother!" The article did say it was about Superman's grandfather.

I don't know, it just doesn't seem possible to be able to do a Superman story without Chloe Sullivan.
On a more serious note, DC needs to get over this hang-up they have with Superman being an alien. As others have said, being from Krypton isn't his origin, it's just an explanation for his powers. His motivations for being a superhero aren't that he's a godlike alien being who operates on a greater level of compassion than us puny Earthlings are able to comprehend. His motivations are that he's a good man who was taught to help others however he can and he just so happens to have some unusual abilities to do so with.
I would argue that Wonder Woman is more of an alien then he is, she's the one who was born and raised in a society that's almost completely foreign from anything else on the planet. Yet nobody ever writes her as some kind of Spock/Klaatu/Jesus mash-up.

Yes, because the last prequel series that SyFy attempted performed so well (I actually liked Caprica, but I was one of the few, apparently).

"That's odd"
"What's odd Jor-El?"
The Military have gone mad Lara, they're positively strange these days, especially that General"
"The General's odd?"
"Exactly, the General's odd"

Abrams direct/write the series?

If they want to do something different, they should try reformatting Superman. Perhaps a Superman series set in the 1930's, or make Red Son into a series set during the Cold War with Superman as a Soviet, or an entirely different scenario where baby Clark is never found by the Kents, but instead his ship lands on a US Air Force base, and he grows up trained by the government to be a special agent to eliminate threats to national security.

No thanks. That talentless hack can f*** right off. Didn't Goyer have a hand in TDK Trilogy? If he did, is it a case of "McMahon filtering Russo"?

I remember when he and Geoff Johns were a team writing the old JSA comic. They actually worked really well together, Johns keeping Goyer's "grimdark" tendencies in check, Goyer keeping Johns Silver Age fanboyism in check. We wound up getting the best comic of the 2000's out of them.

I believe he came up with the story and The Nolan brothers wrote it. Thankfully that's also what's happening with Batman v Superman. Goyer and Snyder will come up with the story and Chris Terrio(Argo) will write it.
