I was excited for the show to come back and th first few episodes were intriguing but dude this thing went off the rails quickly with me. Its a dumpster fire in my mind. It isn't scary and isn't very entertaining. Jessica Lange is gone after this yr and I feel bad its going to be closing on a bad note. Shame, she was such a good part every year. Thoughts?

I am not feeling it this season. It did seem REALLY promising early on. It's not going to feel the same without Jessica Lange.

I'm still watching it, sadly. I really want to tap-out on it, but I figured I might as well stick with it since there's only three episodes left in the season.
But yeah, this show sucks. I can safely say this is my last season of American Horror Story. The show basically has the same formula every season: Start strong, get off the rails mid-season, and then evolve into pure shit by season's end. Every season has been progressively worse.
The only show on FX I can think of that's worse is The Strain, but that's a whole other can of worms.

I think the UK is a few episodes behind the US, and these opinions worry me because it's what I feared. This was the first season I started watching and it was enough to get me hooked and go back and watch season 2 and 3 in their entirety. The first few episodes of Freakshow were great, but after the clown left it just seemed to lose any direction. It really seems like they has to hastily write him out because there was no good reason to finish that story so quickly, and now there isn't really much story going on.
Jessica Lange is fantastic though. What an actress. If she really doesn't return then the show is over.

Yeah, I'm not enjoying Freak Show much. It's just kinda there, lacks any direction and lacks any mystery or intrigue.
I will say I do enjoy Dandy's character though. Although, he's not as good as Bloody Face.

It went downhill when the clown died.

I thought the clown was going to be the big heel for this season but they get rid of him quick and now it's not the same with Dandy trying to fill that spot. I stopped watching weeks ago.

Love it.
I admit, though, that I watched Episode 1 and wasn't interested. But I had never seen any other AHS story seasons before. Went back and watched Asylum and Coven, and loved them both. My wife and I then started watching Freak Show from the beginning and we're hooked. She has seen Murder House and I haven't, but I plan on watching that one as well.
I think the show is highly entertaining, and contrary to what most people believe, Freak Show is my favorite season. It's probably because I find pretty much every character entertaining, and Dandy is without question my favorite character from all the seasons I've seen so far.
I also really love Evan Peters' and Jessica Lange's acting throughout the series, and they continue to excel in Freak Show, IMO.
Also, and this may be an unpopular opinion, but I find AHS WAAAAAY better and more entertaining than The Walking Dead, a show I gave up on for being mediocre.

Murder House was the best on all levels. The lights, the sound, the story, there is sex dripping from almost every scene, mystery, suspense, big reveals brother it had it all. Also, Connie Briton=hottest pregnant woman on film ever...ever

Unfortunately, I'm in too deep to back out now. I'm going to have to see it through to the end, which is too bad, because this season has SUUUUUUUCKED.
The only remotely promising aspect of the season was Twisty the Clown and his relationship with Dandy, and that ended a few episodes in, so what we have now is a show that is going nowhere and has done nothing to keep my interest. Every Wednesday night at 10 p.m. is like a dentist appointment. I know I'm going to hate it, and I dread it as the hours and minutes approach, but I know I have to do it and just deal with it.
And sorry if this comes across as crass or mean, but if this is really Jessica Lange's final season, then good riddance. With the exception of the first half of season two, she has been consistently the worst part of the show, yet she is the overwhelming focus of nearly every episode.
To be honest, American Horror Story to me is a lot like the Terminator franchise of movies. It gets a lot of hype on the whole, but let's be realistic here, the only one that was really that good was the second installment. The first was OK, and the third and fourth were just travesties.

I got into the series during the Murder House. And...I don't know.
My thing is, I like some characters, and I like some plot elements & stories and ideas they use.
But more often than not I've noticed they introduce plot strings to each season and they hastily conclude them, or give an anticlimax to them. With there sometimes just being twists for the sake of twists in the stories. Admittedly some of the twists do enhance the season though.
Worst of all, for me, more often than not too characters I don't care for end up surviving or standing tall by the end of each season. Or, a character I find entirely unsympathetic is cast in a sympathetic light, and we're meant to see them as a strong victim or some sort.
Yet I keep watching.

I really miss Lily Rabe this season, though there have been reports that she will be part of this season as {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Sister Mary Eunice. At this point I can't see how much of a presence she could have, assuming the reports were correct. To me, she was a big part of why I enjoyed the first three seasons.

The actor that plays Dandy has the most punchable face I've ever seen.

Dandy lost it for me. Too much, no subtlety.
I stopped watching after the gay bar episode, it all just got too silly rather than horrifying.

I had all of the "Freakshow" episodes on my DVR and decided I would attempt to watch it. I tried watching the first episode and just kind of lost interest at the time. Came back to give it a try again and saw all of the episodes were gone. I just shrugged and figured I'd wait for this to come out on DVD. I loved Murder House, Asylum was amazing, and Coven started out great then kind of lost itself towards the end in my opinion.
