I sure am glad my parents never tried to get an apology out of the families of the director for Snow White, because I have home-movie evidence that from the ages of 4 to 6, I spent a large amount of time marching around the house singing along to 'Heigh-Ho' at the top of my lungs. And if you're one of those people who think 'Let it Go' is annoying, try listening to 'Heigh-Ho' fifteen or twenty times in a row and see if you don't put a power-drill against your temple.

For my parents it was the Smurfs song and the theme from Zelda.

I heard this song for the first time yesterday because of my students. It's pretty cool--kind of an awesome villain song based on most of the lyrics--though my students got angry at me when I asked if she was the villain. They did say sort-of when I asked if she was the villain for a little bit, though.

pfft. I'm not even a parent and I accept the apology. I get so sick of hearing disney soundtrack songs especially screeched from the tone deaf mouths of small children. LEARN SOME B-SIDES YA MAINSTREAM LOSERS! Yeah. Sing a jingle from Sword in the Stone or hum along to the theme of The Black Cauldron and you'll impress me, you little dimwits. I think Let It Go took off because kids like to sing songs from good Disney movies.

as a parent who has seen it a zillion times and also has the soundstrack which we listen too quite often i still very much enjoy it and am even thinking of getting an Elsa tattoo. Also Elsa and Ana's inclusion into Once Upon a Time is why I started watching the show with my wife

I call bullshit Let it Go was and is the best pop hit of 2014 1. "Let It Go" was released in November 2013. 2. "#Selfie" by The Chainsmokers was released in 2014, so that also invalidates any argument about any other song being the best of 2014.

First Selfie's not the best anything. secondly Selfie wasn't on the top 100 singles of the year, while Let it Go was.

Let it Go didn't chart until this year, while #selfie charted and then took a dive But I do agree, Selfie is f***ing amazing

This makes me wonder what if the internet was a big deal when Little Mermaid and "Part of Your World" was first released.

They did say sort-of when I asked if she was the villain for a little bit, though. Yeah, I heard it before watching the movie and definitely thought it was a villain song at first. I was kinda shocked, thinking that the girl on the posters and merchandise was the badguy. I went into the film expecting it to be a villain redemption story. Anyway, I still love the song. It's awesome.

Well, the story it's incredibly loosely based on the "The Snow Queen" she is the villain... and originally she was going to be as well.

I love Frozen. My 6 year old loves Frozen. I feel like I'm the only parent around here who doesn't hate that song or the franchise. Same here....and Disney loves that we are feeding the machine with all the Frozen Christmas and Halloween gifts we've bought for our daughter.

I barely heard the song at all, which seems weird considering I worked with two women who had daughters between two and six years old.
Then again, the song never bothered me anyway...

"Part of Your World", "Tale as Old as Time", "A Whole New World", "Hakuna Matada"... Just imagine how much hate those songs would have gotten if we'd had Facebook, Youtube, Tumblr, etc, back in the 90s.

I don't really think the director of Frozen could've predicted how insanely popular the songs became. Social media just ran with that shit.

Baymax is more than enough of an apology for whatever the hell they apparently did wrong. Yes!

I'm not a parent but she owes me a damn apology too. Sick of hearing that shit.
No she doesn't. If you're not a parent, how are you not around it by choice?
I'm not a parent and a combination of children I'm around along with the radio along with deluded adults that seem to genuinely think Frozen is better than mediocre has resulted in me hearing that song more times than I ever cared to. I heard it tonight at Applebee's.

Maybe I'm just weird, but I heard A Whole New World around a lot more as a kid than I did Let It Go when it came out.
