Why did they go to the WWF in 1993? And, why did they stay only for a year? Why did they leave?

Scott had heat with Bill Watts in WCW wanted to fight him. Scott also failed a drug test before they left the WWF

WCW wanted to split the Steiners as well, they even threw the TV Title randomly at Scott before he left, but Scott and Rick didn't want to split. They went to the WWF and were great for a year, but then at the '94 Rumble, Vince tried teasing a break-up between them and after that, I think they were under contract for most of the rest of the year, but wrestled in Japan or something. There was some kind of reason they couldn't go back to WCW until 1996. Hence why the only time you saw them in America were the few ECW spots they worked in 1995.

What happened? Nothing. The Steiners refused to go along with it.

Nothing came of it, I think they just squared off in the match at a point.

I think I recall reading the brother vs. brother angle was first proposed to them before the Harts. This could be something I totally made up though.

Every promoter ever wanted to make Scotty a huge singles star, and it would've probably worked too. But Scott kept putting it off due to loyalty to his brother. And while that's admirable, imagine how different his career might've been if he didn't wait until 1998 (and then in reality, 2000) for his big singles push? His match against Flair at the January '91 COTC was a classic and a star making performance. It's a shame, really.

Scott Steiner sucked, even as a Steiner brother. He was obsessed with pulling off pretty, crowd pleasing moves and that's about it. He came across as retarded every time he opened his mouth. Even when Rick was playing the character of a retard, Scott still seemed like the more retarded brother. If you only saw Scott wrestle one match, you'd think he was awesome. Watch him wrestle 5 and it's clear that he sucked. Rick was better as a singles wrestler, but when he started teaming with Scott, he became a lazy spot monkey too. At least he could string a sentence together without making the entire world aware that he had mashed potatoes for brains.

They left WWF after a year because the original Scott Steiner retired for health reasons, and creative had nothing for Rick. When Rick resurfaced in WCW in 96, they paired him up with some roided freak from the power plant and called him Scott Steiner. That guy eventually turned into the Big Poppa Pump oaf we all love today

Serious, Scott Steiner has provided me with more entertainment than 90% of the WWE roster today. He is exactly what a wrestler should be - entertaining.

I remember Rick wrestling solo after Scott was injured by the Hardliners (which always seemed odd since it was Rick whose arm was stomped on during the attack) No. Scott was injured by the Hardliners in May. Scott/Ric Flair happened at the January Clash of '91.

Did they ever get payback on Doom? Nobody gets payback on Doom. Because it's a written rule that you do not step to Ron.

Nothing came of it, I think they just squared off in the match at a point. That was an awkward few minutes in that Rumble. They were beating up on Samu and tossed him, then almost came to head, but Kwang was entering (and debuting, IIRC), he mists Rick and Scott beats him up, they go back and forth with Scott checking on Rick and beating up Kwang.....and then finally Owen comes in and tosses Rick. Only thing I remember after Rumble '94 regarding the Steiners was Scott (IIRC) losing to IRS in the KOTR qualifiers - and that, for me, was the end of them on WWE TV. I mean....dear lord, they weren't even booked for Wrestlemania 10.
