Do be sure to physically touch the sheets before you buy them. Thread count is not necessarily an indicator about quality. If it does not feel good to the touch, it will be uncomfortable to sleep on.

...how have you never bought bedsheets?
For what it's worth, just make sure you get Donald Duck ones.

Ones with Batman on them or Star Wars are cool. Ninja Turtles is also acceptable.

Step 1- Find out size of bed, King or Cali King and is it pillow top (IE Deep pockets) Step 2- Go to Bed Bath and Beyond, Macys, Target, Wal-Mart, Sams, Creapy family infront of Bank Step 3- Pick out color and size that you need( White always works best, same with Cotton) Step 4- Pay for the sheets. Step 5- Leave Store and go home

Serious answer: Can you wait three more weeks before you buy sheets?
I ask because Macy's department stores, which are usually pretty expensive but of very, very high quality, have a huge annual blowout sale on all their bedroom items every single January. They need to make room for all the 2015 bed stuff and, while there's still fairly high prices due to the Christmas rush, right after New Year's the markdowns are going to become super drastic.
If you could make due with something cheap to hold you over, trust me, you'll see some outstanding blankets and sheets for 80+% off. Same goes for frames and boxsprings too.

Did you sleep on bare mattresses before this? I went though a period where I got so lazy, I decided not to put sheets on my mattress for a few months. I don't know if this is a normal thing that happens when your mattress doesn't have sheets but the fabric on mine started to fray more and and more and after a while these massive holes formed at the bottom. The fabric wore through to the foam underneath. My mattress is all tore up to hell and back. Since then, I've decided to put the sheets back on it. I don't really know why during the whole process of these holes forming I never decided that I should maybe put the sheets back on, but I realize at this point in my mattresses life, it would have been quite beneficial to do so. I tend to make a lot of questionable decisions in my life it seems.

I think that's a big reason why people put them on, to reduce that kind of wear. I always want sheets, but a brother of mine had something somewhat similar happen.

I think that's a big reason why people put them on, to reduce that kind of wear. I always want sheets, but a brother of mine had something somewhat similar happen. It started so innocently. Just some pieces of fuzz getting stuck to the bottom of the mattress. Pretty soon, there were lots and lots of little pieces of fuzz and the fabric underneath started to split. Then, a small hole that got gradually bigger and other small holes that got gradually bigger. Now, it looks like someone took a switch blade and sliced open my mattress looking for hidden drugs or something. I'm still not really sure why I never decided to put my sheets back on while this whole process was occurring. Probably because that is something a sensible person would do. I am not, it would seem, a sensible person.

For those asking how I haven't bought before. I've been mainly using covers and sheets etc that were laying around the house not being used (no shame at all), have been given to me, or have rented from rooms that were already furnished and had bedding already included.

If you like the feel of flannel you may want to look into flannel sheets. Same with T Shirt sheets.

I think I must be posting with a bunch of innocent kids. Using sheets reduces the amount of human funk that gets on the mattress and keeps most of it constrained to easy-to-clean sheets. I suppose there is little harm in letting children who bathe frequently sleep on uncovered mattresses, but one night of grown-ups doing bedroom gymnastics would be enough to thoroughly sully an uncovered mattress. It's why mommies and daddies always change their sheets so frequently. Even your mommy and daddy. Especially your mommy and daddy. Good luck getting that image out of your head.
