Is that not just as bad as only having black guys be angry white-hating militants? There's a big difference between a character celebrating a particular cultural heritage and a character being a divisive antagonist solely based on other characters' cultural heritage. And that's something I don't think a lot of people on here get.

And that's something I don't think a lot of people on here get. Ricardo Rodriguez sort of touched on that difference during his RF Video shoot. There's nothing wrong with a wrester celebrating their culture, but when it's used to make them a heel based solely on it, that's where things get questionable.

Been saying it for years.
It was a no brainer, but WWE decided to go with the evil foreigner gimmick.

Giving him a good gimmick would have only postponed the hindering.

I'd still argue it's hugely lazy writing, though. 'What can we make a brown guy? Terrorist? Bollywood? Stick him in a turban and say he's rich.' It's a problem with all the media rather than wrestling specifically, but there's not many wrestlers where them being white is a principle element of their character.

They could make him a Native American since wrestlers with brown complexions back in the 60's and 70's got that role. A majority of Russian and German wrestlers from the 50's to 80's were Canadian or American. I seen white guys play evil Arab terrorists or Mexican Luchadors. I made the suggestion as something that would got possibly Jinder over, not because he's Indian so give him an Indian stereotype. Maybe I should had said a Glee inspired gimmick.

Sorry I think my comment, which was more meant to be about WWE than your idea, has stung a little more than I intended it to - it would almost certainly be entertaining as a gimmick and it might even get over, my worry was about the precedent it'd set within WWE's creative team, which is already quite racially insensitive a lot of the time, more than anything else.

Seriously. I feel it was one of biggest missed opportunities in WWE. He had movie star good looks when clean shaven. Imagine him making his ring entrance with a group of Indian dancers gyrating while Jinder dances along with them. Or him cutting promos and a big Bollywood song and dance number broke out. He could had one of the many very attractive Bollywood actress as his valet. The Great Khali and Ranjin Singh could had been his sidekicks/comedy relief. Anything would had been better than him being Curry Del Rio. Him joining the Band finally showed that promise he was said to have while in FCW. Glad that you find the Indian women attractive, but there was no way an established Bollywood actress was going to be his valet at any cost.

.... Should I even do the cheap plug to the forum games section? Should I even attempt to do that?
