Given recent events I figured I woukd amuse my fellow history buffs with this little tidbit. On his first and only state visit to the Soviet Union, Fidel Castto nearly caused a riot on the very first day. After attending some formal ceremonies he was escorted to his hotel suite-but Castro decided he wasn't ready to turn in, he wanted to take a stroll instead. So he and his entourage literally just stepped out and started meandering the streets of Moscow without their escort. Within minutes the entire Soviet High Command were in a panic; this wasn't supposed to happen, where did they vanish to? It didn't take long to locate the tourists, since a mob was following Castro everywhere he went.
While he was doing his sight seeing, Castro saw one attraction he REALLY liked-a pretty young blonde. His unfortunate translator had to approach the young lady and tell her what she was going to be doing for the night. He later wrote that she "Seemed ready for an adventure." Latino heat-commie style!
