Rampage Jackson? Huge fan of the product, probably too old to be starting out, Drips natural charisma.

WWE bringing in MMA fighters is kind of the opposite of UFC signing a guy who has never had a fight or competitive athletic background.
WWE signs Lena Dunham who goes immediately to the Wrestlemania card, bypassing any kind of dues paying, and is booked to win the Divas title?
It's hard because as a worked organization WWE doesn't have real concerns in terms of credibility or legitimacy that UFC ought to have, presenting itself as a shoot sport.

It would have to be a pretty big celebrity actually joining the roster. So they sign Academy Award Winner Christoph Waltz to face Brock Lesnar at Mania and you're looking at a similar buzz.

WWE signing a UFC guy would never get the same level of interest as UFC signing a WWE guy because the draw of seeing how they would do in a real fight wouldn't be there.
...but disregarding that, I'll always be a little disappointed that Bob Sapp's signing never happened.

Following his UFC success, Brock Lesnar was a big deal. His success in legitimate fighting negated his previous WWE tenure. Vince didn't sign a returning WWE champion in 2012; he signed a straight-up UFC\MMA guy.

Either Sonnen...or really Rousey. Rousey would move the needle a lot more

When WCW gave the title to David Arquette.
Or, barring that, signin Larry the Cable Guy to a contract.

Rousey would be hysterical in that the nerd rage for and against her would be huge.

Yknow another one would be Adam Sandler. Sandler's a famous name, has never wrestled before, no competitive athletic background, has been shown in the crowd at WWE shows. Sandler comes in, bypasses all dues paying, into a major match at Wrestlemania as a new member of the roster.

somebody that would get alot of media buzz, the fanbase would complain about never doing it before, and people would complain about him taking a spot on the card from a deserving talent??....Vince you want that type of publicity you gotta sign Robert Downey Jr. to a contract ASAP have him win the royal rumble and beat Brock at wrestlemania!!! either that or do that with Tom f***ing Hanks!!!

It's hard because as a worked organization WWE doesn't have real concerns in terms of credibility or legitimacy that UFC ought to have, presenting itself as a shoot sport. There it is in a nutshell. The long and short of it is, there is no mirror equivalent with WWE hiring someone from UFC because everyone in UFC, down to the biggest soupcan, is a trained fighter. Plus, WWE is scripted, so there isn't that hanging question of "can he hang with the big boys?" that there is with Punk, almost forty with glass for knees carries. In fact, it's telling that many of the names already listed have either played with, or have already been present in, professional wrestling. A more accurate equivalent would be something like signing Chris Brown to a short-term contract in the middle of his Twitter beef with CM Punk and floating the possibility of a PPV bout between the two.

This really is an excellent comparison, and highlights how silly people defending Punk/UFC look.
