I'm just sitting here imagining the possibilities of Neville debuting in a yellow body suit and cape. Randomly saving people backstage by lifting things.
Hoping Zayn and Owens get a Secret Squirrel and Morroco Mole gimmick.

The creative genius known as Vince McMahon has done it again. Someone was reading old Observers about Chris Candido in 1995, huh?

Eh, I'll put it in the "wait and see" category, but I've all-but given up on the main roster product these days. I do, however, expect the worst-case scenario when it comes to news like this. One can only hope that Neville will continue to have a small run in NXT as he is currently while being introduced to the main roster so we can still see him work and not be disheartened every time he comes out. I'll say this beforehand, and I take it all back if this doesn't turn out to be a worst-case-scenario, but I absolutely can not understand why they don't see that they're doing something horribly wrong when all of these call-ups to the main roster from NXT are failing miserably because of the way they're being presented. Granted not everyone is going to be successful but they've basically struck out with almost all of them. It's also ridiculous that WWE is having so many roster problems when it comes to depth and presenting the same matches over and over again(I read a stat the other day that, not including singles/battle royal matches, the Usos have fought the Rhodes Bros. 20 or more times...) when they have so much talent they could utilize. Or use more talent in tag teams!! I hate to sound cliched but I just loathe the moment I hear an NXT Talent is getting called up.

I was thinking about this, though, and it reminded me about the prejudice against "outsiders" that has existed since the first boom in WWF/E. How if you were a WCW star or whatever, unless you get tweaked you have no chance of a serious push. It's a shame that it seems that this prejudice/paranoia extends even to WWE's farm leagues. Okay, so Neville won't be a giant mouse, but it's not like this sort of thing hasn't happened before...or has anyone asked Nick Dinsmore why he could never be taken seriously anywhere again?
But really, does someone have to be created/developed in WWE alone to stand a chance?

Like I said, it's just like the 90s and back, when you dreaded, say, an ECW guy moving there (and hey, we had many reasons to worry...Flash Funk, anyone? Or Furnas & LaFon, the bland jobber tag team??). Nothing has really changed, but it's sad because ALL these guys are being created by WWE now. Are the main roster guys really as threatened by NXT as they would have been by someone coming from WCW back in the day? This is why we need a REAL second company...having two WWE companies isn't the answer. And barring a miracle, TNA is not the answer, and who knows about GFW? (I'm not enthusiastic though)

Personally I think it's looking more and more like GFW is intended to expand international companies' reach into the US rather than being a tangible product itself, which could work and provide a viable alternative. It's also looking, to me, like WWE is the last of a dying breed that will either evolve with the times and learn from what they're doing wrong OR hold on until they've spent their last penny and eventually give in to the Indies and/or international companies. I was going to go further in-depth about particular guys who I consider a big problem and whatnot, but it really doesn't serve this thread well and it's been echoed 1013948293589235902390 times over so there's really no need to point it out. All I can say is that I'll check in on the main roster periodically and I do REALLY enjoy NXT's current product, and there are a whole slew of intl/indie companies I can check out and enjoy. I'm not even saying that I want/need WWE to fill their main roster with Indie Darlings, all I want is an entertaining product(which, imo, WWE just doesn't have right now.) If they right themselves, then great. If not, meh.

So an NXT gimmick is getting a rat or mouse gimmick because they sorta look like a rat or mouse...Is it NXT season 4 again?

And god help me if the indies overtake them. If you think there's sleaze and paranoia in WWE... (Then again my view is colored by what I've seen and heard happen with indies here, and indy "stars" and what kind of bullies they turned out to be. And how sick I get when people still support them. PM me for nightmare stories!)

If the guy who wrote this article didn't namedrop Mighty Mouse, this becomes a non-issue. Seriously. No kidding, it would be like saying: "WWE is prepping a new gimmick for Sami Zayn that has been described to us as "Underdog-esque." Of course, that's the old cartoon character who was humble and lovable, but was also a costumed dog superhero."

I wonder if some people are misunderstanding the gimmick as a whole or are just making jokes....
Sounds like Neville will be a tough guy who's underestimated because of his size. That seems to be where the "Mighty Mouse" thing comes from.
If that's the case I'd be fine with it but I don't think that's really a gimmick per say.

If he comes to the ring wearing a retro Damon Stoudamire jersey, I'll be his biggest fan.
