Yeah, you kinda have to stomach his normal voice to get through the reviews. His drunk Tony Stark impressions aren't too hot either. But when he does Batman (especially Crazy Steve) or the ultra whiny Superboy Prime? Now that's what I'm talking about.

He doesn't sound quite that screechy on the Nostalgia Critic stuff, though..... Oof.

He doesn't sound quite that screechy on the Nostalgia Critic stuff, though..... Oof. I think part of that is general human psychology in use with speech. He's in a room alone taping, he's louder because he doesn't have a relative basis for where to keep the level. With someone else there, he subconsciously gauges where his level should be.

The quality of Linkara's stuff for me depends entirely on what it is he's talking about. If it's just a dull comic, he's not interesting enough to make up the difference, and if it's a comic he likes you might as well not even bother watching it. Also any time he's going off script, he's not funny. And also he turns into the most insecure whiny bitch on the planet if he's talking about Power Rangers or Star Trek. It is impossible to watch his Wrath of Khan review without thinking he's an utter moron. I can see that. I kind of have a problem with the opposite, if I'm alone but wanting to talk for some reason (like maybe reading some dialogue I've written to see if it sounds natural or whatever), I just cannot raise my voice a lot of the time. Like, no matter how hard I try it just comes out as just above a whisper. Especially at night.

Agreed about his Power Rangers stuff, this was a pretty funny parody of his rant at the beginning of one of his History of Power Rangers videos where he went off on fans asking him when the next one was coming out.

Well, I'll definitely blame my iPhone, not him. He's warned me of the danger of reading MARVILLE, which I've never read and thankfully now never need to read. Will definitely do my catch-up AT4W viewing via the comfort (and much larger image) of my PC.

I just discovered Here There Be Dragons recently and I'm really digging it. Nash's style actually kinda reminds me of Kyle Kallgren. he's clearly reviewing a different kind of movie but his reviews are very thoughtful and his analysis is very insightful. he pulls this off while still managing to be very funny, and the Wand of Gamelon-esque cartoon at the beginning is pretty cool. another "thinking man's web reviewer" if you weel. plus it coms from a place of love rather than snarky whining, which is what I also like about Brows Held High and Cinema Snob (and Spoony when he's talking about something he actually likes). Yeah, I was following Nash somewhat when he was doing his Classic Doctor Who reviews... but his HTBD stuff is excellent and probably better. Also I'm pretty sure Spoony doesn't like anything No, he just hates a lot of stuff that's either good or mediocre at worse. As for Link, his Superman: At Earth's End review is oddly enough one of the best editorials about the character I've ever come across.

I'm still waiting on a Bearded Idiot/Crazy Steve crossover. make it happen, DC!

That's a very specific talent but he's got it down, heh.

I love how he never forgets to emphasize the bold words in Miller's writing, no matter how little sense it makes.

I hate how the people in that circle of critics insist on doing these dumb storylines and crappy characters.
It's always really bad and unfunny.

I wonder one thing though... During his disappearance arc, why did he not give Pollo a comic to review? Would have been something to hear a whole review in Speakonia.

Even when they are done well, generally I just don't care. I'm watching the videos for the review/critique; I just don't care about the extraneous stuff at all. When it's done poorly, it's even more irritating

I do get where he was coming from on that though. HoPR was never his main show, AT4W is. HoPR is a side thing that he does at his leisure. And yet people kept asking if it was cancelled or when the next one was coming out. Even since he announced the dates for the next few because of Patreon he still gets that question.

I've never watched HoPR so I can't judge on it, I mean more how any time he reviews a comic related to it he seems to get all defensive and whiny about it. Especially that parody of it he covered.
