Wouldn't it be hilarious if all of the fans wore CM Punk merchandise and they had to eject everyone? Not likely but a hilarious scenario. The 2nd Ever Empty Arena Match!!!

I don't even believe this is true. You can't...ban people from wearing non-vulgar clothing. They absolutely can. Same way 5-star restaurants and trendy nightclubs can keep people out who aren't wearing the "appropriate attire". It's their shows, and their shows are pretty much commercials for the rest of their product (and vice versa). It's entirely their right to pick and choose the dress codes of the events they host, and what is considered unacceptable behavior by the attendees. Are they taking it to a petty level? Possibly. But that's their right.

But that's their right. I know all of that. But it's not feasible, or remotely reasonable. 5 star restaurants and trendy nightclubs hold 200 people, max, making them a reasonable place to enforce certain dress rules. WWE in 10000 seat arenas, banning a wrestling shirt? It's a silly goal that would take way too much work to actually achieve, all it can really do is sap any goodwill WWE has with their fans. If enough people wear Punk shirts, this will become a non issue because they're not going to piss off that many fans before realizing what a dumb idea it is. They might try and make the rule, but it's not going to achieve the goal of a CM Punk-less arena everywhere they go.

If they offered a free shirt to wear over my CM Punk shirt, I'd be satisfied unless it's one of those shitty "$9.99" shirts. I wouldn't want people to think I actually paid money for that garbage...

It's blatently a ploy to make up for failing merch sales "you can't wear that here" "can you provide me another tshirt then" "you can purchase one from our shopzone stand over there" "no, it only seems to be selling Roman Reigns shirts, he sucks" "that's it. SECURITY! evict this man" "ok ok, I'll buy the stupid t-shirt" No, you want Sheamus But we have to make Roman Reigns look strong, so he'll take a Reigns shirt.

I don't even believe this is true. You can't...ban people from wearing non-vulgar clothing. It would be sad (yet still somehow funny) if this was all BS started by a disgruntled Punk fan who is angry that the "CM Punk" chants have died down and is doing everything he can to try to get them to dominate the shows again.

Really hope we start seeing No CM Punk signs in the arenas, like "No Stairway". "CM Punk" is sort of the chant equivalent of playing Stairway to Heaven in a guitar store.

They've had the same policy for others before (Benoit being the biggest example) without ever making any sort of announcement. Here's the thing though about controlling things: It's their show. It's their world-televised events done as a corporate entity to make money. They get to pick and choose what's allowed. It sucks and it's stupid beyond all belief, but it is what it is. That's apples and oranges. Chris Benoit murdered his whole family, anyone with a Benoit sign or t-shirt was doing it to troll. Since CM Punk is never coming back to the WWE and flipped the bird and spit on the WWE universe, anyone bring CM punk signs are trolls just as well.

Not allowing fans to wear cm punk merch is goofy. It's a wrestling shirt. A bunch of people probably don't own many wrestling shirts and happen to own that one because it's a neat shirt. That's dumb. Leave them alone.
