If you watch the Daily Show, Stewart quite often will drop wrestling nuggets into his schtick I didn't realize how big of a fan he was until I heard some of his references, he knows his stuff. It was surreal to see him at Money in the Bank this year. the audience on his show becomes eerily quiet when he drops wrestling references though

Cena vs Punk was playing in the background of one of the Hangover movies.

All of the AWA and Verne Gagne references peppered throughout Mystery Science Theater 3000's run.

The Malcolm In The Middle intro showed Bret Hart putting Chris Benoit in the Sharpshooter

My pastor who I know for a fact hates wrestling once brought up Owen Hart's name a couple of years ago.

The DJ played Jericho and Rock's theme at my sixth grade dance. It was 2000, so a lot of people were pumped. You also had the kids who were too cool for wresrling saying how lame it was, and that wasted time from Beastie Boys, who had a huge following in my class.

Before exams in the reasonably posh state school I went to, the exam coordinator said he would "open up a can of whoop-ass" on anyone who cheated or was late for an exam, and that was "the bottom line" because "he said so".
Imagine this coming from a posh English voice with a slight Scottish twang and you can imagine why this was unexpected.

I'm studying in Japan and when we were reading about Sikhism, and its use of the name Singh, the middle-aged teacher used Tiger Jeet Singh as an example.

So I'm watching 'The Chase' on UK tv and one of the contestants is an ex wrestler setting up his own fed, and also a trainer When asked one question (I remember not - but was about an actress) He answered "Katie Vick" and also got to say "Three I's" and "Money In The Bank" So what other times has anyone heard a wrestling comment, term or fact in an unexpected place? Please share! I'm sure that one of the chasers is (quite literally) a big wrestling fan. I can't remember his name but I'm sure I've seen him on something wrestling related, possibly something to do with one of the TNA UK tours.

Umagas theme was randomly used once on a video preview/ad for an upcoming football game on Sky Sports. Jeff Hardys was also used.

If you watch the Daily Show, Stewart quite often will drop wrestling nuggets into his schtick He references it so often, you can barely even call it obscure anymore, he does it all the time. The stuff he mentions is funny too he's definitely been watching since he was a kid.

My freshman year in college I took a communications class and had to give 4 five minute speeches with any topic being available, we could choose the topic. I did one about wrestling it was funny how many eyes I saw light up when I started talking. This was in 1998. Funny thing was, it was mostly girls.

He managed a tag team at an indy show I went to earlier in the year only to turn heel on them mid-match, seemed to really 'get it' and enjoy being part of it.

It was surreal to see him at Money in the Bank this year. the audience on his show becomes eerily quiet when he drops wrestling references though When interviewing Kevin Hart, the audience had a bit of a pop when Jon mentioned Bruno. On Supernatural, there was an episode where Ash dressed like a luchador, and mentioned being in Andre the Giant's heaven. They also referenced Kane last season.

They also did a "What's Up With That?!" sketch where Bobby Moynihan showed up as Jake The Snake Roberts. Also, on a recent episode of the "With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus" podcast, there's a brief discussion of John 3:16, which brings up an Austin 3:16 mention, and then one of the women on the podcast talks about having sexual feelings about Stone Cold.

On the DVD for the documentary Hell House there is a short film called "The Devil Made Me Do it" which the film makers used to get funding for their feature length doc. In the short film there is a kid in a tour group wearing a John 3:16 t-shirt (with a "Hell, No" written on back) in the same font as the Austin 3:16 shirts. So it's kind of weird how that whole thing came full circle.
