A Bug's Life only has a plot because the central character is an idiot - he destroys their tribute, invites into the commune circus performers he thinks are warriors, fails with REPEATED plans to beat the grasshoppers, and then the plot is only resolved because a bird randomly appeared.
Now obviously living under the heel of the grasshoppers wasn't that great, but if it hadn't been for random chance at the end, they would have instead all died. Conversely, if that bird was going to appear anyway, then they could've just given the tribute and the grasshopper would've died regardless.

Flik lead Hopper to its nest.

Home Alone
The McAllisters should visually verify that their own child is where he needs to be. Don't rely on a kid doing a headcount.
The Fugitive/Con Air
The "evidence" is so flimsy against the lead character, he never should have been convicted in the first instance.
The Blair Witch Project
Follow the river. Rivers don't loop in circles.

With Con Air, he wasn't convicted, he followed the advice of his lawyer to take a deal. That being said, if he had a lawyer with half a brain, he would have went to trial and not been convicted. The jury's not going to convict a war hero who was defending his wife from a bunch of drunken would be rapists.

If that witch had just told Dorothy that all she had to do was click her heels 3 times, she would have gone through a whole lot less hassle.

Captain America - Things would have been so much better if the scientist acted like every other scientis and actually wrote his research down.
